Power steering hose leaks on 1999 ford tauras
Sounds like there might be a blockage some where in the rack causing extra pressure to ware the hose out quicker or the O ring where the hose mounts. System flush needed? Also P/S systems are usually sealed with nylon o rings and are hard to seat properly, besure they were replaced and or seated correctly during install.
When I accelerate from a stop, why does it jerk and buck?
Maybe you have a engine misfire , not transmission problem ! Is the check engine light on or flashing ? Have you had spark plugs an wires changed ? Or maybe mass air flow sensor is dirty or bad ! I suggest you have the vehicle hooked up to diagnostic scan tool !
99 FORD TAURUS DOHC - WON'T START. CRANKS, BUT
If it has fuel pressure and fuel to the regulator and the rails, the regulator is working, it is getting spark to every cylinder and the timing is correct, You have good compression, it is likely a faulty sensor. You can test each one with a sensor tester or ohmmeter/multi-tester
Relay or sensor.
Map sensor location
Hello, It is just behind the air filter, on the top of the large appx. 4" hose elbow that leads to the top of the engine (main intake). It is between the filter box and that elbow, it will plug into the engine wiring harness. Also; please remove the air filter cover and replace the filter if dirty. This can create a low pressure condition on the MAP Sensor, because the engine has to 'work' to suck in air. I hope this helps!
Hard crank no start like low battery or bound up
I would start by removing the serpentine belt then try to to crank the motor it my seem improbable but I've seen seized water pumps power, steering pumps, alternators etc cause that kind of issue also what's your battery voltage starter draw and voltage drop test would be a good idea but you'll need a dvom and high amp clamp. Try putting a wrench on the crank pulley nut and turn the motor by hand it will take some force but if you really gotta pull on it or you feel binding or seizing you have a major mechanical issue good luck
"I have a 1999 ford taurus DOHC. My batteries keep
More like a rsidual draw with the key off. Try disconnecting he battery at night and see if that helps. Your car may run rough for 10 miles due to the computer memory being cleard with the ground cable disconnected.
I have no park lights or dash lights head lights work and turn signals work
1. Check the Violet/White (VT/WH) wire of the headlight switch for hot-at-all-times power from fuse #20 (15 amp) of the Battery Junction Box (BJB). Also check the switch itself for power feeding park lights coming out of the switch.
2. Check the #20 fuse holder for a missing, blown, or poorly connected fuse.
3. If the fuse is OK, inspect the wiring harness on the driver side front corner where the main loom wraps from the BJB to the inner fender for corroded or broken wires
