Hello I have a 2000

your feeling what Nissan refers to as limp mode (also known as fail safe ) Nissan computer strategy is when its detects a computer sensor (that could cause engine damage)has failed,or your engine for any other reason is running in a way that could cause severe engine damage is to make your engine run at limited rpm until the concern is repaired,I would assume your check engine light must be on, if not the bulb in the dash may be bad, anyways the best route is to have the engine control module scan for trouble codes which will get you headed in the right direction.

2000 Nissan Frontier 3.3L VG33E engine. Drove it to the store and when i came out it would not start. I determined the timing belt stripped at the crank gear. I replaced the belt. I am pretty certain

Nissan markets its D22 and D40 pickup trucks in North America as the Frontier. A six-cylinder 3.3-liter engine with a double overhead camshaft is standard for the D22 models. The timing belt for this engine keeps the camshafts synchronized with the camshaft, enabling the engine to run smoothly. The timing belt has a limited lifetime, and typically requires replacement after 60,000 miles.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Original Launch CResetter
