You may have broke the engine or you have a condition which is called hydrolock.this means you have fluid inside the piston cylinder and you can't compress a fluid. If you remove all the spark plugs and the engine turns. Well my guess was correct and you have a gasket or part leaking water into the intake. If it won't turn your engine is done seized and will need a major overhaul or replaced.

1999 Pontiac Bonnieville 3800 V6 runs good when cold fans operate normally ,operation temp 150 Degree running on highway ,Stop and go traffic temp goes up to 200 Degrees, stall out sometimes.Won't

Do you have a check engine light on ? If so Get codes first for a direction. Sounds like temp sender or coolant component is faulty.

ABS light stays on - can you unsolder relay in ECM with common iron.

ABS light on did they check codes ? The light staying on an no codes is usually a insturment cluster problem not the EBCM - electronic brake control module . No relay in side the module , a transistor or diver as they call them . This transistor will supply a ground on a electrical circuit from the brake lamp driver module ,when it does this the brake lamp driver module ground a electrical circuit for the ABS light . If anything is bad causing the ABS light to stay on it would be the brake lamp driver module . Your best bet ,take it to a GM service dept.

Security Module location

Does the SECURITY light on the instrument cluster flash or is it on steady ? The problem with this system is the contacts inside the key lock cylinder wear causing this problem ! It's not the module more then likely ! This system you can do a by-pass on ! Measure the resistance of the pellet on the key , go to radio shack buy resistors to = the key pellet resistance . Find the wires from the ignition lock cylinder under the dash , disconnect the connector from the dash wiring harness an solder the resistors into the dash wiring , not to the lock cylinder . There are videos on youtube showing how to do this by-pass . When a key is inserted in the ignition, contacts that are located in the steering column (ignition) lock cylinder contact a resistor pellet located in the ignition key. The theft deterrent module measures the resistance of the key pellet. The module compares this value to a value stored in memory. The theft deterrent module then performs one of the following functions: • If the values match, the theft deterrent module performs the following system enable functions: • The module provides a ground for the theft deterrent relay at terminal A4 (CKT 625, YEL/BLK). The ground enables the starter to operate. • The module sends a proper pulse width modulated (PWM) signal to the PCM. The signal travels via CKT 229 (DK BLU), terminal A3. When the PCM receives this input, it enables the fuel delivery system. • If the values do not match, the theft deterrent module performs the following system disable functions for approximately three minutes: • No ground is provided to the theft deterrent relay. The starter is disabled. • No command is given to the PCM in order to enable the fuel delivery system. GM VATS Key Resistor Key Security Bypass

Have something draining my car battery. I have a 1999 Pontiac Bonneville, and I have to get a new battery about every 18 months. I had a new alternator put in, new not used, about 20 months ago. I rep

If you have a drain on your battery , it would not take 18 months for the battery to go dead . What do you mean The battery gauge in the dash shows only about 1/2 power, When ? When the vehicle is running ? Not charging ! The battery gauge as you call it has nothing to do with the Battery . That's showing how much the charging system is putting .The volt's indicator is controlled by the PCM - engine computer . With the engine running should show 14.1 volts .if your only seeing 7 the charging system isn't working. The alternator is controlled by the PCM as well ! Have it check by a GM dealer .

I would say, if you have worked on older cars you can handle pulling the rad and replacing the drain assembly, just watch tightening parts into the plastic rad tank.If the rad looks grungy at all when you get it out, replace it.

I have a 99 bonneville SSEI. My starter on my car

Those unknowns are more than likely ground wires or grounding straps. Yes, they must be held in place by a very snug fitting bolt or screw and the wire connecting to the metal ring must be crimped or secured very well also. Sometimes the wires pull out of their crimp a bit and become a loose and poor ground. Each ground wire or ground strap has a specific purpose and is just as important as the connections of anything electrical.
Any corrosion or lack of secure fitting connections will cause a multitude of problems. I would recommend changing the entire positive cable if you are having to push on wires or manuever them in any way to make it connect then replacement is definitely necessary because corrosion can be all throughout the length of the cable even under the insulation ( plastic coating over wires ). If you are not knowledgeable about the items you are connecting to then it would be my recommendation to have the work performed at a reputable shop. Also the condition of the negative cable is just as imporatant to the system as the positive is. When disconnecting your battery always disconnect the negative ( ground wire) first and when reconnecting a battery always connect the positive first and the ground last.
Best of luck to you and let us know how it turns out.

Hit a pothole in my 99bonne having electrical problems. voltage gauge drops and battery dies. checked everything i know. battery and grounds. not blowing any fuses

Keep looking, sounds like battery connection or cables. Take them all apart and cleaned really well? Also check the smaller cable from battery to fuse/relay block. Maybe something loose under the fuse block? There could be other grounds, too. They used a lot of them in various places, but sounds like you found the major ones-should be 2 or 3 on the engine itself. You may have to use a multi-meter and do the voltage drop tests. YouTube has videos on that.
