Non start will start and run if battery is

You have a short draining the battery over long periods of time. There are a few devices which have full time power. The rest of the car should shut off when you have all the switches turned off. This means that the wires going to the Positive side should not make contact with the Negative side. If you were to put an Ohmmeter on it after disconnecting the battery and properly connecting the leads; you would test to find any connected circuit. The connected circuits would be the shorted circuits. Only a few like the clock and the antitheft are always on/

Ground wire from battery feels hot

Resistance equals heat. Corrosion and poor connections are resistance. Make sure the connections are clean at the battery and make sure the cable itself isn't green with corrosion. I’m happy to assist further over the phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/jeremy_d728a59f986299fa

Our 1985 Ford Bronco has accumulated debris in the "grated" slot between the windshield and the hood. Is there a recommended way to remove this (ie -is it accessible without extensive teardown)?

That panel should come off easily. Under the hood you should see the retaining screws holding it. Might be rusty as all heck now, and screws might break off, but can always be drilled and new screws attached, when you put it back together.

Change ignition

Without the key you would have to drill the lock out. There are videos on YouTube if you need them.

Remove hub assy. 84 bronco 4x4, manual lock outs

if you are talking about taking the manual lockout hubs off, then first take tire off then if the clips are still on the lugs use a screw driver and pry them up so you can spin them off the lugs, then the hub will come right off. when putting them back on the clips are not really necessary because the wheel will hold it on.. hope that helps..

My 1985 ford bronco will not fire out of the

Check the distributor cap for cracks or dirt that can short circuit the spark.
Check the leads and the rotor. if there is spark at the coil then you are loosing it at the distributor or the coil lead.

Engine stalls out when I turn the wheel

This problem is caused by a sludged up idle speed control air bypass valve and throttle valve, please do the following procedure to restore the idle speed control and stop the stalling.

I want you to get a can of intake cleaner (ABOUT $5.00) from any local auto parts store like NAPA or Carquest, do not use carburetor spray, intake cleaner only or u will damage the Teflon coating inside the throttle valve and air bypass valve, it is made by a company called CRC, remove the air intake hose to the engine, hold the idle high so the engine won't stall, then spray the can of cleaner into the intake while keeping the engine running, use at least 1/2 the can, shut down the engine and disconnect the battery for 5 minutes, then restart and complete a number of mixed driving cycles, town, freeway, stop and go etc., after a few days the problem will go away as the system will relearn to the clean intake.

I own a 1971 ford

Your clutch is dragging, that is, it's not 'throwing out'. If you have a hydraulic clutch check the fluid in the reservoir, If mechanical, just look for the point where you adjust it and tighten it up a little- I don't remember which those old Broncos had.

Ensure that it's not frozen before you adjust it though- frozen clutch has to be warmed up and then driven a little to dry it

If adjusting it get you no satisfaction then observe what you can and report back- the list of possible causes is long.
