What is transmission "linkage"
well in standard terms transmission Linkage refers to metal rod that comes down from passenger compartment on steering colum and connects this too transmission (P,R,N,D.1.2) , but on a 01 explorer if my memory serves me this is all done electronicly and there is no physical rod it's all done with wires and computers

A/C compressor does not kick on...Compressor OK
If the refrigerant level is low (or if it is too cold outside), the system pressure will not be high enough to cause the low side pressure switch to turn on the compressor. Check level of refrigerant by making sure there is at least 40 lbs pressure on the low side when the compressor is not running.

Does a 2001 ford explorer sport have a timing belt
being that you most likely have a 4.0l s.o.h.c. engine you have a timing chain which only needs inspection around 100,000 miles for excessive wear on chain guides and leaking cam seals. this setup tends to last far beyond that mileage without any maintenence. if this was helpful please leave positive rating.

My 01 explorer sport won't
It sounds like a fault in the starter circuit. It could be a defective neutral safety switch, starter solenoid, or possible a defective ignition switch but I doubt it. Can you hear the starter solenoid??? I'm willing to bet the problem is either with starter relay, neutral safety switch, or starter solenoid.

2001 Explorer Sport ,Rear Driver Brake Light and Turn Sig. Broke
Rear lights are double filament bulbs one side for the lights other side for the brake/turn signals so it still may be a bulb. Do u have a test light or volt meter you can check to make sure u have power there when brakes or turn signals are activated. Or just try another bulb.
