The simplest most reliable ever made by any auto maker was the GM 10SI alternator. It has a large stud terminal in the back and a two wire connector in the side. Run a large wire from the battery to the stud on the back. Take the red wire in the connector put a ring terminal on it and attach it to the stud in the back. The white wire in the connector needs to be connected to one side of a small incandescent pilot light the other side of the light should be connected to a 12 volt source that is turned on and off by the ignition switch. fan bealt is easy to change all you need to do is right down how the belt runs befor you start and then loosen the alatanator and move it closer to loosen the belt then remove the belt around the fan and replace just like you wrote down then use a bar to tighten the belt by prying the altaator away from the motor but don't make it to tight then once tou have it as tight as you want tighten back the altanator and thats it
