It is located right next to the carbon canister under the truck on a tray that is mounted near the fuel tank.

sounds like fuel pump in tank is not working. Can you hear it hum when you turn key to ON?

It should hum for 5 seconds and build up 40 psi of fuel pressure.

Get a hanes or chilton Manuel from te parts store. They have full engine overhaul "how to's" If you run into huge issues google ford truck forum. Join a couple forums and people will be more then happy to help you out.

Hello! There are two options in stereo for your vehicle; Base Radio and Premium sound...That is no amplifier with radio and with an Amplifier/CD player for Premium...Which do you have? Also, what make and model are you installing?

check the position of the throttlebody the throttlebody must not close properly there must be a gap when fully closed if theres a throttleposition sensor replace it

The base radio has two fuses in the I/P fuse block. Fuse 20 7.5 amp and fuse 29 10 amp. It will be obvious which fuse is blown when you inspect them.

You have to look at the exhaust gas readings

Sometimes in my State on newer cars, they don't give you that
I have to go to the MV Web site to see the report in full

A high CO would be a rich condition
A high NOX would be overheating

Then the other gases etc

Now if you want a complete manual or set of instructions
for every diagnostic procedure to correct something,
your asking far too much.

I would start out by calling a dealer with my VIN in hand. It has a 3 or 5 year bumper to bumper warranty. You are most likely within one of them and certainly the other. Further they will take a look at it and even if not under warranty tell you exactly what is wrong with it. It helps so much to have someone who knows what they are doing actually put their hands and eyes on it.

Suggest you change the fuel filter, and do a pressure check of the fuel pump. It sounds like a fuel flow problem and those are the two items that fail the most.

Eather your batt is bad or your alternator is not charging!

replace the flasher first. Usually under dash by fuse panel.

something that old your first goal is to locate a serviceable used unit, the whole cluster not just the speedo, via eBay or a junkyard. less than 50 bucks, but there is no warranty.
once located you look for a video on youtube of someone pulling the cluster, or buy a repair manual for a few bucks on eBay. watch someone do it or follow the instructions.
you may want to try that in reverse as the thing is only worth 500 bucks and will not be worth another cent with a working speedo. if it is too much work for you, then most likely you will not want a used speedo laying around.
