I have had on and off problems with misfires with this engine. I have replaced the wires and plugs, as well as the DIS module. My only problem now is a misfire in cylinder 6, only at idle. The CE light flashes at idle and is on steady while driving. It drives very smoothly and shakes a bit at idle.

where is the oil sending unit on a 1996 ford taurus 3.0 liter engine located?
glenn
On 3.0L OHV engines, the oil pressure sensor is located on the left
side of the engine block above the flywheel. On 3.0L DOHC engines the
sensor is located on the left side of the engine block above the oil
filter. On 3.4L DOHC engines the sensor is screwed into the oil filter
adapter. The oil pressure sensor operates the oil pressure warning lamp.
Fig. 1: Location of the oil pressure sensor-3.0L OHV engines
Fig. 2: Location of the oil pressure sensor-3.0L DOHC engines

Hope help with this (remember rated this help). Good luck.

At begining I checked service Codes (engine service soon light )at Autozine, and I had codes P0401. P0133, P1131, WHEN i REPLACED oxygen sensor(closest to the engine) code P1131 went off, than I did clean up EGR valve and tube, after 30 miles checked again , it show P0401 and P1131 . How I can rid of these 2 codes.
Based on what the tech manuals say I would change the DPFE sensor for the EGR Valve, careful not to tear the special silicone rubber hoses that go to it from the exhaust, as a Ford dealer tech I saw these codes allot, and the DPFE sensor was almost always the issue or the hoses going to it.

power window quit working last night. bought a relay switch but didnt work. may have bought wrong part. any hidden fuseboxes i dont know of??? i found 2 but nothing specifically showing power windows
Check the 10 amp fuse for Battery Saver under the dash next to the brake pedal on the left. Just replaced mine and it took care of it. That's only if all 4 windows won't work.

I heard from somebody that they just pop off somewhere, but I'm afraid I might brake the thing! How do I properly remove my hubcaps!
There are three basic kind:
1 has a center cap that hides the lug nuts beneath the cap. These usually have a small slot in them to allow a flat head screwdriver to be inserted in them and pop the cover off which is retained be tension created by metal prongs.
2 There is also a type that has plastic decorative lugs that screw over the actual metal lug nuts. In this case just unscrew all visible lugs and the cover will come off exposing the actual rim and metal lug nuts.
3 This is the oldest style that has now lug nuts present and is held on by tension like example one except that the prongs holding this one on is along the outer perimeter of the cap. To remove this type you insert a flat head screw driver between the hubcap and the actual steel rim and pry off working around the perimeter of the cap as you go. Replacement of this hub cap requires force to be applied at the perimeter as application to the center will either not complete the process or more than not result in a broken hubcap.
Hope this helps.

I have a 1996 Ford Taurus and the turn signals and hazard lights stopped working. I checked the fuses and the flasher and all check out. What should I check next?
Take the turn signal lever and jiggle it, a lot. If they start working, the switch is bad. You can also turn on the hazards and take hold of the button and push it left , right , forward and back and see if they start working. If so, replace the turn signal/ hazard switch.
