Sepertine belt wont tigthten on 1997 ford taurus 3.0 efi v6

Sometimes the idler will stick rather than respond to the spring and put tension on the belt. Try removing the belt, spraying libricant/penetrating fluid on the pivot points, and moving the idler back and forth a few times. CAUTION: the spring should want to move the tensioner so when it decides to free up it may do so in a hurry.

Car wont idle then stalls when i put it in gear.

It sounds to me like a tps sensor or a possible vac leak. Check your vac connections and listen for a sucking noise coming from the engine. If it is a making that noise you either a have vac leak or an intake air plenum leak there's so many things can cause your issue these are the most common

Why is it so hard to get my Taurus out of park

Be uber careful with that transmission. Those are delicate pieces on a Taurus. The park pawl is what's sticking. You may have a low pressure issue from the pump or you might be parking on a grade and not using the park brake. Use the park brake and save your park pawl. They can brake off and then you have no park...

Where is the thermostat located on a 1997 ford Taurus SHO?

Trace the top radiator hose back to the engine. Where it ends is the thermostat housing. You'll have to drain your radiator, remove the radiator hose at the housing on the engine side, then there's usually 2 bolts that hold the housing on. remove the housing, remove the thermostat Noting which direction the thermostat is sitting, replace with the new one in the same position, put a new gasket on the thermostat housing and reverse your steps to put it back together. NOTE**** DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN THE THERMOSTAT HOUSING BOLTS*** if you strip them or snap them off you will be looking at a major repair bill.
