Why doesn't My truck start after changing the Timing belt on My 1999 Ford Ranger?
you need to pull the timing back apart pull the number one spark plug and role the motor over by hand to top dead center on the compression stroke the the mark for the crank should be lined up or almost lined up line it up perfect on its mark then set the cam to its mark install belt role over by hand 2to4 full rotation marks should line up perfect . install crank pulley fire it up for a split second shut it off and put it all back together
1995 ford ranger manual transmission goes into gear but it feels like the emergency brake is on holding it back from moving either forward or reverse
Sounds like your parking brake is jammed up. Ford is notorious for this malfunction. you should jack up the rear of the vehicle and test the brake cable by pulling on it and letting it snap. If it whips back into place then it is okay and you should move on to check the from calipers ( I'll get to that) if it goes limp when you let it go it means that the cable could be that the parking brake cable is a little rusted up and probably should replace one or both.
Now for if the parking brake cable is operates okay. you will need to remove the rear wheel, and drum/ brake disk, depending on your vehicles options. after removing the drum or rotor, there should be a wheel cylinder (it has a brake line, usually steel, running into it). you will want to check its functionality by placing a large, strong rubber band around the brake shoes, then slowly push on the brake pedal and watch for movement at the shoe, and then release and see if it is pressed back by the banding. if not then you have a faulty wheel cylinder. Do this for both rear wheel cylinders.
assuming that that operates alright then you will need to move on to the next component. the caliper. often at times these will bind up and sieze to the rotor by hydrolic means, simulating a pressed brake pedal. agian press the brake pedal and try turning hte wheel after you release the brake. do this for each wheel. At this point you will have either deduced that there is a problem with one of the previously mentioned components or that there is a different issue.
Let me know what you come up with and if none of those are it, then we can move on to the "201" class on boggy transmissions...
#26 fuse keeps blowing
You had vehicle with no problems until you
paid a butcher to install the radio,so you know
how the problems got there
Now you go back to the radio folks or get it out of the
system & return the vehicle to as built working condition
yourself
