Tailights are out and the dash lights are out
Hi, first check the park lmp fuse (#3) in the cab to see if that has blown. If good, suspect your headlight switch is bad. You can get a new switch for under $20 at autozone. Please let me know if you have questions, and thanks for using FixYa.
Witch trans line is the
I belive its the top one, a good test to make sure is to remove the top line and put a hose on the end of it and stick into a container to catch oil, then hold a container under the fitting on radiator and have someone spin the engine and watch where the oil comes from, for example if oil comes out the line then you know the bottom is the return but if oil come out fitting from radiator then top is the return, hope this helps.
Is it possible to remove the crankshaft pulley
Hi and welcome to FixYa!
Yes it's possible but it's too risky. I strongly suggest that you get a puller to do the job. Pulling it just by tapping can damage the spline.
Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!
Anti theft wont let start
it turned out to be the relay in the black box under the hood that the owners manual shows as unused. the diagram shows 1 through 13 I believe, and towards the front of the vehicle is a relay not shown that is forward or above the #1 relay that comes on when the ignition switch is turned on. Simply replace the relay, from Ford or a parts store, and away you go.
1999 ford ranger 4.0 auto. when truck changes
when my 99 4.0 auto was still under warranty, it had a bump-bump when it came to a stop. the dealership found it was missing the two bolts holding the transmission to the motor mount.
How does a crank sencer make it fire
the crank sensor , senses that the crank is turning, and how fast. these readings are then used by the computer to adjust the engine management for best performance.
If the crank sensor is not sensing the crank turning it wont allow the ignition to spark
Timing belt broke on 1999 ford ranger
Ouch, when this happens I'd have a competent shop look at it. Usually when a belt breaks it takes alot of other engine parts with it (valves, etc..) Sometimes you can get lucky, but I'd have a shop look it over, plus they'll offer a warranty on their work.
Code P1507 no info on code or how to fix
The code relates to the iac module or Idle Air Control module, it is located near the throttle body held on by 2 bolts. Ford part numberF75E-9F715-AA or autozone TV229. not too expensive. this applies to the 3.0 v6 if you have a 4.0 or 4cylinder. use the proper designation at the dealer or auto parts store.
Is it worth it to
If you ask,I assume you don't work on your own vehicles
Always a learning experience, and less expensive to
do yourself!!
I'm having trouble getting heat, already replaced
if your getting better heat at higher RPM's i would guess one of two things, either your water pump is getting ready to go out ( with engine cold, remove radiator cap, start engine and slowly raise the RPM's of the engine from under the hood at throttle body, watch coolant level, you should see it flowing or going down slightly. if no movement i would suggest water pump ) or still may be in heater core, did you try flushing it out forward and backwards? my first guess would be water pump
Fan belt on 1999 ranger 3.0 keeps jumping off and
Check that all of the pulleys are in alignment and in the same 'plane' with each other.
Also, check with the belt off for binding pulleys or crooked angled pulleys that would cause the belt to jump off.
