It is overheating
main things to check would be the thermostat and water pump. then you should have a compression test done on the engine as the over heating can cause the headgasket to fail or the problem could just be because your head gasket needs to be replaced

We have burnt the clutch
This requires you removing the cv shafts, taking loose the engine/transmission mounts, unbolt the transmission from the engine, removing the transmission, taking the pressure plate and clutch disc off the flywheel on the engine, then putting everything back once the new clutch parts are put back on. Looking a day of work to complete.

Removing the door lock cylinder from the driver
remove the door panel for that door. make sure the window is all the way up. there an access hole th where the cylinder is. unclip the little rod to the cylinder. theres a clip that holds the cylinder to the door. remove this and unplug the power to it if its lighted. and remove the cylinder and reinstall

Not getting fuel
Turn the key on to the on position and not start. Listen very closely. You should hear the fuel pump run for about 2 seconds. If not then the fuel pump is probably bad. I think that the Contour has a place in the trunk to access the fuel pump. If not, you have to drop the fuel tank.
