Gas pedal sticking, motor racing
Hi, yes you can fix yourself. Follow the accelerator (gas pedal) cable to the carburetor, at the carb. there should be a spring (this could have come off) that makes the cable retract, have any helper push the gas pedal. You watch the movement in the engine area with the ENGINE SWITCHED OFF. Follow the movement of the cable and check for return action. Lubricate with spray lube on all moving parts. All the best.

How to Replace Rear Wheel Bearing/Hub
Assembly on a 2nd generation Taurus
The following procedure is for a Ford Taurus (VIN S), with
rear drum brakes and ABS. 1. Loosen
wheel lug nuts, raise rear of vehicle, and support securely on jack stands.
Block front wheels and remove rear wheels.2. Remove brake drum (parking brake must be off).3. Remove and clean ABS Sensor (Torx E8)
with a spritzled rag.4. Remove grease
cap from hub.5. Remove and discard hub
retaining nut (36 mm). This is a compound nut, comprised of several nuts inside
a metal cage. Use a 36 mm axle nut socket (e.g., OEM 25206). Many

What is the spark plug gap for a 2004 Ford Taurus
Depends on which engine you have. Dual Over Head Cam (DOHC) seems to be .054. The other 2 options are .044. Usually it will be printed on a sticker under your hood and also in the owners manual. Be careful some types of spark plugs that they make today are not adjustable. Hope this helps.
I have a 2001 Mercury
Normally when I see this it is in a vehicle that uses a Computer chip in the key as an anti theft measure. The chip is going bad and when the ignition loses that signal it starts cutting power or goes to valet operation which only allows driving the vehicle a maximum of 5 miles. If you have a key with a chip then you will need to order a new one from the dealer and get it programmed. If you don't the problem is most likely the ignition itself.
