2001 dodge intrepid replaced brake light switch and my brake lights still will not shut off.... Please help
I would start looking for a grounded wire somewhere. it could be where the harness goes thru the firewall. You might want to get a color code from a dealer or online so you know what color wires are in the brake light circuit. I don't know what your level of ability is, but you'll need a tester you can get from Autozone or any parts place. You will need the tester to check each wire. You will be removing eac fuse until the light in the tester goes out. That will tell you what wire is grounded.

My pcm needs replaced on my 2001 Dodge Intrepid
It's a pretty easy fix. When I've seen these changed in the dealership they do it while the vehicle is on a lift. The PCM is located just in front of the transmission on the Radiator support rail. Remove the Two Electrical plugs from the top and unbolt the PCM. Slide it down and put the new one in place and connect the plugs. If your getting one of these from a junk yard make sure the vehicle you get it off of has the same accessories as yours. Power windows, cruise control and such. Dealerships actually get Blanks sent to them and they program them when they are installed. The same PCM may be used on several year models but the programming changes and has to be done at installation.
