2001 dodge ram won't go into reverse

sorry but i dont have good news for you, this is a common problem with the dodge, what has happened is there is a drive drum inside the transmission that has a reverse drive gear inside it this has most likely broken, you will need to remove the transmission oil pan and look for junk inside the pan if you find more then a teespoon of metel in the pan or any brass you will need to replace the transmission......sorry

I have a 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 extended cab 5.9

I believe I would begin with a fuel pressure and flow test. With the key on and engine off you should have 44-55 psi of pressure. Flow should be .5pt in 7 seconds (fuel line disconnected and running freely into container). If pressure or flow rate is low, verify fuel filter condition. If filter is ok, you likely have a weak fuel pump. How is the ignition system, more than once I have encountered a bad distributor cap, rotor, or coil that displays the same symptoms. Another issue I would look into is restricted exhaust (I.E. - bad catalytic converter) Loosening the exhaust at the manifold and creating a leak at this junction should allow flow to increase long enough to drive and see if is better or not. Give these a try and see what comes up.

Brakes on a 99 dodge 1500 van need to be bled

i dont think thats your problem. bleeding at the wheels is all you need to do. try looking for leaks in the brake lines, a common problem is the brake line going to rear brake hose it rots beside the gas tank, take a look see if its wet, hope this helps.

2001 dodge ram 1500 4by4 do not know how vacum lines go back ?

If you look under your hood, there should be a sticker that has your vacuum hose routing on it. If not, what size of motor do you have?

Ac blows from top and bottom when acelarating

Remove the pass side headlamp, reach down to the vacuum reservoir and see if the hose has come loose. If it's all together, replace the check valve in the supply line to the HVAC system doors.

May have a vacuum line leaking, engine light comes

Many vacuum lines, but if it indicated a bad cap it should just diagnose the fuel vapor system. Your unit is 8 years old. Check the filler tube to see if the hose clamps rusted off. Being a bearer of bad tidings it could also mean the tank is rusted and has a hole in it. You can check the vapor cannister under the hood, your PVC valve, and vacuum hoses under the hood. Radiator shops can repair gas tanks and they should be able to pressure test your system on the vehicle without taking everything off.

2001 Dodge Ram 1500 Water Pump?

can we have a picture of fan/pump assembly?
if not, just fit the correct size of wrench on the bolts.
if you have adjustable wrench that could reach those bolts.
use socket wrenches, or close type wrench.

email me the picture. [email protected]

Removing distributor cap dodge ram 1500 5.9

If this is a van you will remove the cover from inside the van. The center cover comes out and you will have full access to the engine. Your manual should show you how to remove it but it is usually very simple. Hope this helps.
