1991 f150 idles rough but when u give it gas it gets better
Here are a few things that might help.
1. Check your spark plugs. make sure the gap is right and they are not worn out.
2. Check your distributor cap and rotor for build up on the contacts.
3. Check your spark plug wires, make sure they are on the distributor and spark plug tightly. also check them for damage ie. heat, knicks, scrapes, etc.
4. intake idle control valve. these do cause your symptoms and are easy to replace.
hope this helps ~ Zach
How do you align a door on a Ford pick-up so that
Please follow the instructions below, but before u loosen the hinges try adjusting the door striker bolt slightly inboard on the door jamb, u will need a T50 3/8 Drive Male Torx Sockert to to do this adjustment, if the moving of the striker inboard to increse closure force works don't fool with the hinges adjustment.
Instructions
Things You'll Need:
- Assistant
- Floor jack
- Socket wrench
- Adjustment shims (avail from Napa auto parts)
- Torx/hex wrench
-
Open the door and make sure it's properly supported. The best way is to have a second person hold onto it. You can also place and raise a jack under the door, but place rags on the jack first to prevent scratching the paint.
-
Loosen the mounting bolts with a socket wrench on one side of the hinge--either the door side or the body side. Move the door in whichever direction you feel it needs to be moved (up or down are most likely), and tighten the bolts with the door in its new position.
-
Check the door's new position. It needs to be aligned so the top of the door lines up with the top of the fenders and the bottom lines up with the lower rocker panel. If not, repeat Step 2 until it is aligned.
-
Use body alignment shims if you can't properly adjust the hinges by themselves. Loosen the hinge bolts, and insert the shims behind the hinges.
-
Adjust the door striker on the door jamb if necessary. The striker's bolts should require a Torx or hex wrench. Loosen the bolts, tap the striker in the needed direction--up, down, left or right--and tighten the bolts back.
How to check door locks fuse

Think fuel injectors have trash or fuel pump may be stopped up
If you haven't changed the fuel filter in a while, you may want to start with that.
Check your injector harnesses for secure connections. Check your plug wires. You may also want to consider replacing your plug wires and distributor cap, if you haven't done that recently.
If that's not it, you may also be having issues with your ignition module; it's a unit about the size of a small chocolate bar located underneath where your distributor is mounted; you will need a special tool to remove it (can be borrowed from most car parts stores).
1991 f-150 ford pickup truck power steering pump
Purchase a replacement pump at Autozone or Kragens. Remove and plug the two pressure lines. Loosen the adjustment braket. Pull the pump over to loosen the belt. Remove the belt. Remove the adjustment bracket. Remove the bolt holding the pump. Replace the pump. Put on the belt and tighten it until there is 3/8 in. flex. Refill the pump reservoir with power steering fluid.
Ran out of gas
Probably 2 year old gas in other tank. switch back to the good tank and run injector cleaner for at least 2 tanks of gas.
Old gas or trash
Left inside frame under drivers door , in front of gas tank
You may need a special tool to remove lines from filter
Fuel engine stops then start up in 1 min
You probably have an electronic ignition system to go with those fuel injectors. It sounds like it runs just long enough to empty the fuel out of the injectors, which means there might be a vacuum problem. I'm a carburetor person myself. Are you sure it sound like it NEEDS gas or could it be flooding?
Fuel system problems
Check that fuel pressure is up to specs. Should be a connection at fuel rail to attach gauge. Maybe try removing one line where they connect for feed from both tanks and plug it good. Something may have happened when blowing lines that is allowing one line feed to suck air at same time as fuel from the other. Perhaps check valve in line. Try both ways, with each line to see if problem cured. Low pressure reading would indicate that possibility. Check all fittings & connections for possible leak from being disturbed .
