1999 Ford Escort. I was driving down the road, smelled oil burning, clutch lost compression, brake fluid low, added brake fluid, won't engage in any of the gears.

Question edited for a lot more clarity and fix funky punctuation. Question moved to make model category. Totally a guess here, but it sounds like the clutch line ruptured somewhere and sprayed the engine with brake fluid so you smelled burning oil. If it was empty of brake fluid, you have a system full of air, and if the pipe is split or seals have blown, pressing the clutch pedal won't do anything. The system needs checking from the clutch master cylinder to the clutch slave cylinder.

Location of fuel pump on 1999 ford escort

It's in the gas tank. Just make sure the fuel pump is the problem and not something else. Check for applicable trouble codes. There are some codes for the fuel pump driver module. There is also an inertia switch, something to check.

Ford radio code

Try this site, it looks like they charge you for the code, but if you go into a Ford dealer they may give it to you for free (you may need to provide proof of ownership). Make sure the unit does not display LOCK 10 or LOCK 13, as the unit will probably need to be sent away to be cleared. Most dealers don't have the facilities to do this themselves, although they can provide the codes. The site I've linked for you has quite a good description of how to enter the codes.

Hope this helps,
Mark.

I have a 99 escort zx2 with an idling issue.

VCT solenoid ????? IAC - idle air control valve . YOUR Vehicle has an IAC valve . Your vehicle does not have a VCT solenoid Variable Cam Timing Variable Camshaft Timing is an automobile variable valve timing technology developed by Ford. It allows for more optimum engine performance, reduced emissions, and increased fuel efficiency compared to engines with fixed camshafts. It uses electronically controlled hydraulic valves that direct high pressure engine oil into the camshaft phaser cavity. These oil control solenoids are bolted into the cylinder heads towards the front of the engine near the camshaft phasers. The powertrain control module transmits a signal to the solenoids to move a valve spool that regulates the flow of oil to the phaser cavity. The phaser cavity changes the valve timing by rotating the camshaft slightly from its initial orientation, which results in the camshaft timing being advanced or retarded. The PCM adjusts the camshaft timing depending on factors such as engine load and RPM.

Well the computer on any car can be reset by removing the positive lead of the battery and touching it to the frame or negative post if it will reach.
