2004 Ford Escape Questions & Answers
2004 escape oem alarm goes off when you start the car.
My problem started after a low battery also. It is a different problem than yours but it might solve your problem. Here is my solution. I believe it's worth a try for the price. All signs point to the Accessory Relay (NOT the Accessory Delay Relay). I replaced the Accessory Relay (Standard Part V13081 RY612). It cost me $15.61 with tax. On the 2004 Ford Escape, it is just to the right of the fuses in the fuse box by the driver's side seat. Three days and all good so far. It is well worth the price to see if this works for you like it worked for me.

Keyless entry systems on Ford vehicles allow you to control a number of different security and convenience features. With your Securilock system, you can unlock your doors without fumbling with your keys, sound the panic alarm in a dark street or parking lot and pop the trunk with your hands full. You can set or reset the remotes from your driver's seat in a few easy minutes with no professional equipment or experience.
Enter your vehicle with your ignition key and remote and insert your key into the ignition.
Turn the ignition key from "Off" to "Run" eight times in the first 10 seconds, and end the eighth turn in the "Run" position.
Wait for the locks to click after the eighth cycle and press and hold any button on your remote within 30 seconds.
Hold the button for up to 30 seconds until the locks automatically click again, and this will indicate successful reprogramming. You can then remove the key from the ignition to end the process.

Vehicles equipped with the PASS-KEY or VATS anti-theft system usually require the system be reset whenever the battery is drained or replaced. Follow this procedure.
Step 1 - Attempt to start the vehicle. It will crank, but not run. The security light will be flashing on and off. Leave the key in the run/on position for exactly 10 minutes, then the security light will stay solid or go off.
Step 2 - Turn the key to the 'off' position for 10 seconds. Attempt to start the vehicle. Some vehicles will run at this point, although many will require you repeat repeat Step 1 two more times. Make sure turn the key to the 'off' position for 10 seconds before each 10 minute cycle.
Step 3 - The vehicle is now ready to relearn the proper code. Turn the key 'off' for 10 seconds and then 'crank' the vehicle. It should be running now. The security light might stay on solid for several minutes afterwards, depending on your system.
