1996 NISSAN MAXIMA SHUTS DOWN FOR 1 FULL SECOND!!!
It sounds like your car has an intermittent open current feed problem. Has there been any electrical/component repair or replacement recently? If so, that would be a starting point for diagnosis. Sounds like an ignition switch type problem. If you had an intermittent battery connection, the car would continue to run from the alternator output, but would not cause the warning lights to go through their initial "bulb check" sequence. But if "on" voltage is lost at the ignition switch, or that circuit, it would.
How to take off the top ball joint nut with an open end wrench without stripping the nut?
Usual method,Pull the cotter pin and use 2 open end wrenches,on top of each other to increase the contact area and pull slowly.The nut should come off.
2nd method,use a sharp air chisel and split the nut apart.
3rd method,shield the CV boot and heat the nut or cut it off flush with a torch.
4th method,freeze the nut with 134a and then remove it with the 2 wrenches.
5th method,Cut across it at an angle with an air cut off tool
down to the ball joint threads to release the nut pressure then remove it with one wrench.

How do I erase the ABS light or reset it?
you will need a code reader. you can also disconnect the battery for 15 minutes or so and this will clear active codes. If you start it and it comes back on you have a fault you will need to diagnose.
Where is egrc solenoid fuse located?
There isn't one. Usually taking them off and cleaning them(brake clean) takes care of the problem. I have never replaced one on these. Just cleaned them.
