Location of ignition control module on a 2005 dodge neon

Hi Ricky, It could be located inside the distributor, or mounted on bracket in the engine compartment or in the power train computer. What are your car symptoms? if it turns on, but as you're driving it turns off and it happens frequently; it could be the crankshaft position sensor. This was only suggestion that you might want to check out. I only paid $12.00 at auto zone for my crankshaft position sensor. Good luck and take care. :-)

I have no spark to or from coil

Hi Rick, I'm glad to help! Rick, the PCM which is the Engine Controller must see a signal from the crankshaft position sensor and the camshaft position sensor before it will energize the ASD which is the Auto-Shut-Down-Relay. Which when energized then activates the spark to the coil pack. NOTE: Let's say the PCM is seeing the signal and is energizing the ASD but nothing is happening. If thats the case? FIRST: Try switching the ASD relay with another one just like it and see if it starts. If it doesn't, check every fuse under the hood and inside the vehicle. If they are all good. Then make sure there is power coming from the ignition switch to the ASD relay. Turn the key to the start position and see if the test light lights up. If it does then Replace the "Crank Sensor" first and see if it starts. If it still doesn't start then Replace the "Cam Sensor" If it still doesn't start. Then your into either a wiring problem somewhere or the PCM is bad. CAUTION: You must check every other possibility before replacing the PCM, because its very expensive. Hope this helps and have an awesome day Rick.

Switch from miles to kilometers

Speak to your (or any) nearby Dodge dealer. Ask them to find out for you what parts (and labour) are required to make these changes when THEY (dealerships) transfer cars to each other across the US/Canada border. (There should be a factory/dealer process to perform this changeover, and if they think they can make some money from you by doing it, they should cooperate in providing you with the parts lists and labour guide.) Once you've got the "dealer version" of the required work, start researching the internet to find a cheaper source for the parts (e,g, http://www.autopartsway.ca/) and shop around for a private garage who is capable of doing the work. Get three quotes....always! Good luck.

Alternator belt tension?

alt belt has a slip torque adjuster. belt should be set to 1/4 to 1/2 inch deflecting pushing on the belt between the longest distance between pulleys. more than that will put to much tension on the belt and less than that will cause it to slip when wet or under heavy acceleration.

P0685

I couldn't find anything specific, but most fuses/relays are in two locations - behind the kick panel under the steering column, and under the hood (usually near the battery side wheel well). If you take the lids off the fuse box(es), there will be diagrams to show you which slow is for which fuse or relay. Good luck!

I have a tapping noise in my 2005 neon it just startaed

check the oil make sure its full. change the oil with recommended grade oil and the filter. if this doesn't fix the issue have the oil pressure checked. neon are known to have bearing issues that cause low oil pressure and a tapping noise because the lifters are not getting enough oil. some will have the oil light flicker when engine is idle in gear. another cause for a tapping would be the belt tentioner

I would check 2 things that would give you this issue. first and relatively easy to check would be the fuel pump relay. located out on the fender well driver side. they go bad and work sparattic causing an intermittent issue. second would be the throttle position sensor. they can get moisture build up and cause it to work weird. it should be located in the air box where the cable attaches to the throttle body small controller with a wire harness attached.
