There is no detent cable to adjust. Your transmission is probably a 4L60E which is electronic controlled by the computer. If it's not shifting into high gear then you need to take it to a transmission repair shop for analysis. 1st make sure you have the gear shift lever in 'D' and the tow haul button is not pressed in. Check your Instrument Cluster for the correct operation.

It is if, it is locking out your overdrive. Check to see if it shifts into all the gears your transmission has... ie. 5 speed = 4 shifts.

Check connection and ground. Since the brake light pin on your wiring harness has power, check that the wiring harness ground pin has zero ohms to ground. If the harness is good and the hitch light works on a battery, then there is either a bad connection from the pin to the hitch light or from hitch light to ground.

Its probably down on the pedal box. Get down and have a look up under the dash. Find out where it is and check the wiring diagram to see if it operates anything else.

Sounds like the battery in your key fob died. Just replace the battery. The new transponder fobs require the key to prevent the car from being hotwired or someone just popping the ignition.

There is no adjustment that I know of. I had a 2000 Silverado and the only adjustment was the ability to raise the bottom of the seat up to place large items in the back.

No - access to all vehicle modules (including the BCM) is through the OBDII ALDL connector.

Any part store can sell you a BCM for your truck. It has to be programmed for your truck though. You'll have a 1 in a 1000 chance of getting one from a junk yard the will run your truck. Because of the security issues. It also has to be the same engine and transmission to work properly.

I would look at the air blend doors first, it sound like they are not working or your control in the dash is not working send a signal to them. they work by changing the air from hot to cold or in between.
