Trouble code P1740 on 1999 Dodge Ram 2500

I had the same code on my 2001 dodge 2500. The truck wouldn't shift from 3-4. I pulled the trans pan off and replaced a broken spring ($2.00). It is behind a thin plate with 3-4 small torq screws. You don't have to remove the valvebody. Only took me 45 minutes to fix.

I would like to give thanks to Jeff Russel from Teal automotive. He said this is a very common problem. He sells any part for any automatic Transmision and his prices are very affordable.
Here is a link to the website.

Hope this helps.

2004 Dodge Ram 1500 4.7 liter running Hot

Try washing the radiator look to see if it's filled with bugs, if it is back wash it out at a car wash, if that is not the problem look at the radiator cap and see if the rubber is cracked, if it is replace it, without a good cap antifreeze will boil at 212 degrees if that does not fix it take it to a radiator shop and have them pressure test the system, this will show any hair pin leaks that you would not otherwise see. Here are other things that could cause it, running to lean plugged catalytic converter or exhaust pipe, blown head gasket. Fan clutch bad.

I have a 02 dodge ram 1500 and the brake lights dont work

I've seen this more than once. Do you have a towing hitch? Sounds like you got a wiring problem with a trailer harness. If you do have a harness then check all the wires to be sure none rubbed through.

Trouble code 00P38 on a 2004 dodge 2500

Bank 1 sensor 2. Oxygen sensor heater control circuit high. You can try disconnecting at connector to sensor, clean connection good, disconnect battery for a minute or so & retry. If it comes back, I'd look at replacing heater solenoid.

Cruise control shuts off up hill

if the cruise control light has come on then i would take it to a dealer and have them hook it up to the scan tool and see what exactly is going on. I think that pretty much is going to be your BEST bet. However you should check your brake fluid because if your brake fluid is too low then the cruice control will not work.

My 99 dodge ram 2500 runs great but when I shift

If this is a manual transmission you may want to check the tranny's synchros if they are still in good shape. try doing a double clutch if it works For automatic, it would be best to have the tranny serviced. For some cleaning by draining the oil and cleaning the solenoid works.

1999 dodge b2500 van is overheating.

I know this solution sounds kinda dumb but if you just replaced the thermostat I would check to make sure the thermostat is installed the correct way. I replaced the entire cooling system on one of my vehicles once and it still overheated....I put the thermostat in backwards. Turned it around and problem solved. Hope this helps and please don't forget to rate me.
