Why isnt my1993 ford ranger no spark no fuel
Is there fuel in the tank? Is the fuel pump working? Is the fuel pump fuse blown? No spark: check coil and connections to the coil (pull coil wire, hold it near or against the block/ground while someone else cranks the engine to see if you have spark from coil. Check/replace distributor cap/rotor/stator, check ALL fuses.
2003 ford ranger need timingmarks my beltbroke
I've never done one on a Ranger, but most timing gears have alignment marks that you line up before you install the belt. Don't forget to replace the belt tensioner while you're at it.
Urgent - Stuck at a Campsite and Won't Hold Transmission Fluid???
Smoke may indicate a transmission leak, with fluid getting on the exhaust system. Puddling underneath when adding fluid seems to confirm that.
We can only hope that it didn't burn up any internal parts.
A few questions that might help you to get an answer:
1) Does the dipstick indicate full, or close to it?
2) Can your son be more specific as to where the fluid is leaking, and how much? Whether it is from the front or back part of the transmission, or elsewhere. Also, is it leaking out a LOT of fluid when he adds some?
3) Is the pickup parked on level ground? If not, which end is pointed up?
4) We are talking about a rear wheel drive P/U, not a 4x4, right?
5) Has he tried to put it in L1 if the pickup has it?
6) He knows to add the fluid while the pickup is running, right? Just making sure.
Sorry for all of the questions. Hopefully it will narrow down the possibilities.
When i put my 2002 f250 powerstroke in reverse the radio shuts off
There was known concerns with the multifunction switch on the steering column that would blow the fuse fir tail lights, turn signals, and hazard lights.could be feeding back and shutting off radio also.I personally had this problem with the tail light fuse blowing.I use my truck to plow and it sees a lot of shifting, mine is an 05 so wiring diagrams are different, but this could be your problem. Easy diag, remove steering column cover and unplug multi function switch, directional switch, and see if concern stops...
Shifts in & out of overdrive
Does the o/d light flash when this happens,? If not you could Have an uncommanded overdrive band applying and unapplying.this could be a simple band adjustment or a shift pack solenoid concern to a bad p.c.m.this id a transmission shop repair unfortunately.
Will go in to 4wheel low range
On Ford trucks, you have to be at a stop with foot on break and vehicle in neutral to go into low 4...same for taking it out of 4 wheel low...
Runs for a short time and stops wat for 5mins. and strates up runs and stops
Sounds like it is starving for fuel or air. Let's check it out remove air cleaner when was it changed last? Check it is it dirty? Change it now try starting the car again. Did it run for a longer time? If so all it needed was an air filter. If it sills stalls Start it and let it run and when its about to cut off I want you to spray it with starting fluid and try to keep it running. If this keeps it from stalling you need a new gas filter. So change it and start your car it should run now. My advice to you is keep your car tuned up and change all filters.
If you still have an issue after all this we have to look else where. Let me know how you make out.

Refresh my memory, What have you done to the car beside replacing fuel filter? Do you have a fully charged battery? Are you getting spark to all cylinders? Are you getting fuel? I can help you if you tell me what is wrong. Don't assume it's the fuel pump cause there is so much in between but we can see if your Fuel Pump is working. Open your gas tank and have someone turn the car on but without starting it. You should hear a hum for about 2 to 3 seconds.
This means your pump is working. Now you need to find out what is your fuel pressure? A good number is between 65Lbs. and 40 lbs.
Let me know how you make out I'll be on line all day today.
Fuel pump fuse
Spray starting fluid in your air intake` and see if it starts. If it does and dies out its your fuel pump. If not check Fuse and relay also change gas filter. To be sure use a fuel pump gauge the pressure should be around45 to 65 Lbs.
Stuck 2nd gear
make sure all linkage levers underneath are in their neutral position
