po446 evap vent code where is the evap vent located
Some might have an ses p0446, evap emissions vent circuit low. If you
take it to the dealer they want 300-400.00 to fix the problem. GM has a
service bulletin on this condition and have the updated part for 180.00,
thats suppose to eliminate this issue.
Basically the problem is, the evap purge vent valve gets clogged with
dirt, especially if the truck is used in dirty conditions. Well I
figured there had to be a cheaper way to cure this problem.
Here it is:
1) find the location of the vent valve; its under the truck, locate the
charcoal canister on the front of the gas tank and trace the vent line
to the vent valve.
2) Take the bracket loose with a 5/8 wrench.
3) Spin the valve around so the side with the hole is facing you.
4) Take an air compressor and blow the vent valve out.
5) reinstall and clear the code and it's fixed.
Now I know the updated part from gm is supposed to keep the valve from
clogging ever again, but why spend the money when all you have to do is
blow out the vent valve every 50k-100kmi and save your $$$!

My driver's side power window switch doesn't work. All the other window switches work fine. The switch was not acting up at all, it worked great in the morning and that night when I was going home I went to use the switch and nothing happened. If I hold down the switch I can hear a clicking sound in the switch,Can I change just the driver's switch or is it one complete unit? Driver's side window will not work. All other windows work. I changed the switch but the problem persisted with the new switch.
The same thing happened to my 1999 JMC Jimmy recently. I believe the problem is that your power window motor has most likely gone out or is starting to go out. The motor will need replaced. They are pretty expensive new. I went to a junkyard and got one for around 15 dollars. When mine went bad, I had rolled my window down about three or four inches and it stuck there. I took my door panel off and tapped on the motor while holding up on the window switch and got it to go up after a few minutes. I am replacing my motor today, I'll leave an update here about the outcome when I finish the job. I hope this information helps you.

2000 GMC Jimmy brake calipers have been replaced lines have been pressure tested and replaced, (emergency brake has not been adjusted yet needs new cable)
The Brake system has been bled properly but the pedal still goes to the floor when you start the vehicle.
Is it possible to have a Master cylinder that will have the power to bleed the system but not be functional enough to actually activate the brakes?
It's very possible to be the master cylinder, the o-rings on the piston could be worn, letting the fluid seep back through instead of getting full pressure through the lines. Could also be the brake booster.
Try changing the master cylinder first, which is cheaper and easier, and see if there is a difference, you'll need to bleed the brakes again.
To check the booster,
With the engine off, pump the brakes until the pedal is hard, then hold pressure on the brake pedal and listen for air escaping, or the pedal goes slowly to the floor, Do that after the master cylinder has been changed, at least that will be eliminated.

I have a 2000 Jimmy that the Power Seat stopped working in but I can't find the fuse or breaker to check it out. None of the fuse diagrams list the power seats.. any Help would be appreciated.. power drivers seat not working also....just lumbar and heat
Left side of the dash, to the right of the IP fuse block. Its a 25 amp circuit breaker, an aluminum cased breaker. CHECK FOR POWER ON THE SEAT SWITCH "A" TERMINAL AND GROUND ON THE "D" TERMINAL. IF YOU HAVE POWER AND GROUND THE SWITCH IS BAD.

problem just started recently put truck in park turn off ignition but it will not "click"to lastdetent to allow key removal
I dont know how much help this will be, but I'll offer it and let you be the judge.
Ive had this issue before in a different GM vehicle, a Pontiac Grand Prix. The issue turned out to be that the voltage from the battery was low due to corroded terminals. Once that was cleaned up and the voltage restored to normal, the key came out. Come to find out that this was a common issue in that vehicle, voltage goes low, you cant remove the key.
Now, on my vehicle and since yours is a GM product as well I will assume it will hold true for your vehicle too, there is a small hole on the bottom side of the column right in the area of where the ignition key cylinder is. If you have this, you can take a small tool like an allen wrench and push it up in there and that will press on a release mechanism that should allow you to turn the key back to its release position and pull the key out.
Hope this helps.

My daughter's 2000 Jimmy has been having starting problems but if you tried several times it would start. It finally stopped starting. Even jumping it will not work. Now the battery is down to where it wouldn't start if it were working perfect. My son-in-law thinks it is the anti-theft lock but doesn't know which wire to cut to disable it. Fuel pump and transmission has been changed in the last 6 months.
You'll have to check the charging system, fuel system, or perhaps maybe a relay switch that may control the fuel because those including the fuel filter usually go out before a fuel pump is replaced. And also check the alternator and battery. Hope you fix it.

installed new fuel pump, need wiring diagram for it. new pumps now come with a new universal so we had to re-wire it from the pump to the car, still does not run. no fuel getting from the pump, pump not making noise and fuel guage does not read.
Hope this is what you need?

I have a 2001 GMC Jimmy that will not move in Reverse. It does't sound like it's even transferring into Reverse gear when I shift into it. Also noticed a slight whining sound in all Drive gears. I checked the transmission fluid and the color and level are fine. I tried Reverse in 4WD as well with no luck.
i had to put a new trans in my 2000 jimmy about a year ago there is something inside called a "reverse hub" its made from aluminum and not very hard to break..when mine broke i was stuck trying to move in reverse and it heard a pop then a winding down noise and sure enough its the reverse hub to fix it i just had the trans rebuilt

Fuel pressure regulator changed, ecm changed, fuel pump working, fuses checked. Truck engine will try to turn over, sometimes it will start, but only after trying several times, mostly it won't start. Could problem be in the ignition switch? Please help, very frustrated!
The oil presure switch does have some bearing on the problem but my suggestion is to change the coil. I had a the same problem with an astro van. I changed everything that you have described and it fixed the problem just for a little while and then all of a sudden did it again. I changed the coild and the cold start swithch and never had the problem again.
