I got a 98 nissan frontier and have brake fluid on
I recently tried the DIY service and repair manuals from a website and it actually helped me repair transmission problem in my jcb 3cx site-master. It would'nt move forward or reverse, engine was good both solenoids for forward and reverse worked, but still couldn't diagnose the problem.
I don't have much technical knowledge but I just followed it step-wise, and now it works perfect! covers wiring, codes, diagrams, torque specs, PCV, everything
got it from

Why does my brake warning light stay on all the time.
You will have to pull the tires off and check your rotors and make sure they are not worn, if worn they will need to be replaced and if they are not too worn they can be resurfaced by taking them to a parts store that has a resurfacing machine such as Auto Zone or Oriellys.

Zero compression 98 frontier 2.4
did you check the valve train- head to make sure no damage to valves or push rods if their good than need to recheck timing chain
Back brakes lock-up no front brakes why
If you have dual brake reservoirs check that each one is filled to the top so that braking is effective both front and aft. If your brake system has a proportioning valve that directs braking effort between the front and back brakes, that is also an area of concern if it is faulty it can cause your symptoms.
Because of weight transfer when de accelerating, about 85 to 90 % of stopping power is generated by the front brakes and that is why they wear out much faster than the rear. You currently have a very dangerous situation with virtually no braking, and this is an issue that needs immediate attention.
