HOW TO REPLACE A FUEL PUMP FOR A NISSAN XTERRA
Removal & Installation
- Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the precautions in the beginning of this section.
- Relieve the fuel system pressure.
- Drain the fuel tank.
- Remove or disconnect the following:
Negative battery cable
Fuel pump module harness connectors
Filler hose shield
Fuel pressure and return lines
Filler hose
Vent hose
Evaporative Emissions (EVAP) hose
Fuel tank skid plate
Fuel tank
Fuel level sender
Fuel pump
To install:
- Install or connect the following:
Fuel pump
Fuel level sender. Tighten the screws to 17-23 inch lbs. (2.0-2.5 Nm).
Fuel tank. Tighten the bolts to 27-36 ft. lbs. (37-49 Nm).
Fuel tank skid plate. Tighten the bolts to 27-36 ft. lbs. (37-49 Nm).
EVAP hose
Vent hose
Filler hose
Fuel pressure and return lines
Filler hose shield
Fuel pump module harness connectors
Negative battery cable
- Fill the fuel tank.
- Start the engine and check for leaks.
Xterra revs up but doesn't drive
Possible transmission ck fluid to see if it is burnt or contaminated with eng coolant sometimes the cooler in the radiator breaks and cause the contamination
Transmision automatica se queda sin fuerza
Revise los niveles de liquido en transmission, si estan bien o recientemente ha hecho un cambio de fluidos y filtro, podria tratarse de un problema con el "convertidor de torque" o valvulas de solenoide defectuosas, estas ultimas se encuentran internamente dentro de la transmission.
