How do I get a stuck coolant cap off in a 2002

NOTE: wait until the car is cool. Push down firmly on the cap and rotate it counter clockwise at the same time you are pushing down on it. Once the cap has cleared the tabs, pull up on it, it should come straight off. This guy give a good explanation. http://youtu.be/vEdtHZwLKZ8 Hope this helps

My caliper broke and we are trying to replace it and put on new breaks and rotors but we cant seem to get the bottom screw to come off . it is way past stripped and idk if we will ever be able to get

If you mean the bottom bolt which is holding the caliper in place, and its rounded off really bad, first soak it and the area where it threads into with a good penetrating oil (WD-40, Liquid wrench), let it sit for about 2 hours, apply more oil, then clean off the head and tap it with a metal hammer several times to loosed it up. Then clamp on the biggest vise-grip wrench you can find as tight as it will go. Then remove the bolt with the vise grip. This has always worked with me. Why wont my 2002 olds alero start when its cold

One of the coil packs or the ignition module is probably bad. Test for spark when cold. If no spark on any coils suspect the ignition module or crank position sensor. If spark is gone on only one coil check the plugs and wires to that coil pack. If theplugs and wires are ok then replace thge coil pack. Don't forget the obvious load test the battery and clean the battery connections. If the check engine light is on run any diagnostic codes and repair

How to replace overdrive relay on 2002 alero

There isn't an overdrive relay. There is an overdrive solenoid. It takes about four hours to replace. You better have manuals and patience to do it. otherwise you will mess up the transmission worse than it is already..I really don't recommend a nice to do it. When you take it apart, there are parts that fall out. You lose them or don't get them back in place, a transmission rebuild ,plus extra parts are in the works for you.

Sounds like one of two things
one turn on your car wait for two minutes than check your teams fluid level if low than add one or two quarts check under vehicle for any leaks (careful car will be hot.
Second if all that it's good than u have bad solenoids or burn clutches good luck.

When I turn my engine over there is nothing but the rest of the car has power .This happens every now and then

Im pretty sure I know what is wrong. This is pretty common in GM cars. Your security system has failed, meaning that you will still have power to the car but it will not start. Happened to me. I found this site they make a bypass module. I had a good experience with them and Installed it myself . Hope this helps ya.

Is it possible to switch out the complete ignition from one 2002 alero to another of the same kind. i'm affraid ill set of a security code.

The ignition switches are made to be replaced. You should not have to cut or splice anything, those parts would stay in the vehicle and attach to the ignition switch.

How can you use wire going to the horn from the relay and put on a push button switch

Find the wire at the bottom of the steering column that comes down from the horn button, or locate the wire at the horn relay.. Cut this wire and splice it to a wire that goes to one side of a push button switch. Connect the other side of the switch to the metal chassis of the car, which is ground. A metal part of the dashboard frame will usually work. Then when you press the button, it will activate the relay and sound the horn.
