I have this code pop up irregularly but seems to happen when car is downshifting, It goes into 2nd gear "limp home" mode and all other gears including auto stick are disabled. I can shut the car off and it starts and runs normally until the downshift happens again. It seems to happen less frequently while slowing down very slowly. I've changed the input and output speed sensors, the solenoid valve assembly, and had the trans fluid and filter changed/serviced. It seems I've done all the common failures that cause this. What else can it be?
This is what sets the code.
Engine started, engine running, and the PCM received a message over the CCD bus from the Transmission Control Module (TCM) that it had detected a problem and set a trouble code in memory. This code sets in 1 Trip(s).
The presence of this code means the TCM detected a problem. TCM related sensor is damaged or has failed.
After everything you have done I would recommend taking it to a transmission shop, I'm sure they have seen this on Chryslers. and know what the common problems are.

I have a 2001 300m. I have replaced the thermostate, waterpump and had it pressure tested. The car can sit and idle for 30 minutes without overheating. As soon as I drive about 30 miles on the freeway it starts to overheat. Any ideas?
When the vehicle overheats, do u check the water/coolant level in the radiator? If it has reduced, it means ur leaking and u should inpsect to c where the leak is coming from. If the level has remained the same, probably ports are blocked or something to that effect. Keep me posted though

300m 2002 in neutral is not going more then 4000 rpm.why?
The 300M is equiped with a rev-limiter. The technology is designed to protect the engine. It keeps you from blowing it up when it has no load on it...If it is driving and shifting ok, and you have no check engine light on...there is nothing wrong.
Why would want to rev the engine past 4000 rpm in neutral anyway? Max torque comes in around 3950 RPM...
If you keep reving it up in neutral you might throw the computer in to LIMP mode, then you wont go no where.
Hope this answers your question...

Check engine light on 2001 chrysler 300m. The code says it has to do with either my gas cap not being tight or some sort of fuel fumes. I'm sorry I don't know the codes.
Make sure that the gas cap is the correct one. If the gas cap was replaced with a different style or a locking cap this will set off the check engine light. It can tell there is a problem because it measures the built-up pressure in the gas tank. So the pressure is not building in the tank due to a loose or incorrect fitting gas cap or a loose, cracked fuel line, or bad check valve in the charcoal canister for the fuel tank vapor release line.

I have a Chrysler 300 3.5L V6. Coolant boils and burns but engine temp does not get too hot until well after coolant begins boiling. Has new water pump and thermostat. Dyed the coolant to check for head gasket and that's good. No problem with the oil. Any suggestions?
water boils at 200* plus, you might want to check the cooling fans which involves the temp sensor, check into that

3.5 V6
This engine is what is known as an interference engine, so if the timing belt lets go like this you most likely have bent engine valves and or piston crown damage. The best advice i can give is have a new belt, water pump and automatic tensioner pulley installed and see if it starts, you may get lucky, my wife did when hers let go a year before I meant er. You can purchase a timing belt "kit" with all the parts here is the part number and price.
ACDELCO Part # TCKWP295 TIMING BLET KIT- INCLUDES
WATER PUMP
BELT KIT,TMG INTERFERENCE ENGINE APPLICATION PRICE $184.00 USD Source for parts price and number www.rockauto.com
