If happens only when clutch is in, I would look at the throw out bearing. When clutch is in, the throw out bearing is in maximum effect pulling the clutch back. The bearing takes a lot of wear, so if very old or clutch been replaced without the bearing, I would suspect this as a area of trouble

Apparently it still has an emission system leak. I suggest that you take it back to the shop where it was diagnosed and have them research it further.

check fuel filter and also check if O2 sensors are working on exhaust

why not get a auto-electric shop to do what you cant do. why not? you want us web bunnies to teach electrics in this text box? really>? I can, but wont. not now, what is best is leave the cars, electrics alone. dont hack stock parts. better is a clean install of fogs also some states have laws on how fogs work, (logic based on headlamps or parking lamps) so .... i cant guess your state. a new fuse box or inline fuse a new relay, a new switch and wire it all so it cant catch fire. (that fuse does that) if you need a schematic for fogs, its generic and can be found 1,million hits on google

take it to an accredited service center and have the fault codes read guessing just costs money and seldom fixes the fault

which engine, are we to guess that? wow. why guess, why throw money why throw parts. that is what costs the most. THROWING. does most times. and fate rules world,no dreams, what will be, will be. right? before having a wallet blow out, find whats wrong first. see? (first discover then panic) the opposite of that is called, DIAGNOSIS. you can do that or pay someone who can, any ASE tech can ! you do know ,right, you can pay for only diagnosis.? "put on work order "diagnosis only" that is a contract. car has a real oil pressure gauge? we never trust any gauge on car, ever, (after it lies, LOL) we next attach a real guage to engine and make sure dash gauge is not fibbing, or its just a wild goose chase, a tech never ASSUMES. he uses tools and real instruments to see truth. 301 is #1 cylinder 1 misfire ( is this the only DTC>???????) misfire, means only ! bad combustion on #1 that can be many things, causes.

1. bad compression on #1
2. bad injection to #1
3. bad spark #1.

try a new $2.50 spark plug on #1 yet or better all spark plugs doing the first real tune up ever? 80psi,? (if real the filter is in bypass mode, and that is bad) is filter 10 years old? running wrong engine oil? try changing it and running 10w-30 (or -40) for summer>? RTM yet, read the operators guide, see oil sections? put in snake-oil additives in it (never do that) Jiphphyboobs put in antifeeze in the oil.? never use them. ever. does oil look like milk chocolate? not amber.

dont fool around there, AIR bags are man killers. they most be defeated first. (by the book) then fix the combo switch.

you meant it wont crank right? if it dont crank is will not start with automatic trans. jump cable crank it off a running donor car.yet,AAA tow style>? keep cables in car at all times, I do for 50 years. that way there is hope. my guess? engine stalls there are over 50 reasons for stalls. (even burned intake valve or even a 10cent valve keeper ,missing) but in physics (we use gauges to find truth) it 5 reasons, what to TEST or Gue$$> the list and matching tools if you ask.

• battery power never dropping below 13.3v running. or PCM can shut down near or below 11v.
• Lost engine compression. 1 or more cylinders.
• lost spark or timed wrong. (cams can go off time and take spark with it)
• bad fueling. to much and too little.
• EGR stuck open. if you have one, many 4l dont, it uses a detuned cam to , prevent NOX commissions.
