Auto transmission won`t change out of first gear

posted now 3 times this post is longest so will answer here. not 3 times. ever. so like all cars like this, with electrically shifted box. you check fuses first. then scan it. if the TCM sees errors (scan it) then it tell you it has errors. and will either not up shift, or will go to limphome mode. no matter, the reason you dont know is you didnt scan it first. the tool is cheap as $10. too. all modern OBD2 tools work, buy one rent one, barrow one, etc.

What are the probable causes of DTCs P0017 an P0036?

It is unlikely that those two codes are related, P0017 is a timing correlation error - probably a timing chain or tensioner going bad. P0036 points towards a bad O2 heater. It is possible that it is the drive circuitry inside the computer, also could be a wire leading to the O2 sensor. But I would check the wires, then replace the sensor first. If I knew which engine this vehicle had I could give you a location of the O2 in question.

I have a 2002 jeep grand cherokee and my turn

I have the same issue. I took the flasher relay out, inspected the pieces for any hairline fractures on the circuit board, nothing it was clean. On my jeep, the turn signals always work in the Spring, Summer, Fall months, but as soon as Winter hits I loose my turn signals. Also, I know it is temperature related because I drive around for a half hour and the signals work again. It is really strange, I think the issue is somewhere in the ground wire, I will be checking that next and will post any new information. Anybody else who has had this issue and correlation I would certainly like to hear about any solutions. Thanks

My air conditioning fan is inop. Which fuse controls it?

which fan? of the 3 to 4 fans?the dash blower fan?the engine fans? 1 , 2 , or hybrid fan for RADiator and on big engine the hydraulic fan?(I engine overheats ? the brain rightly shuts down A/C) and some fans.do you have the AZC options. (dash HVAC show temperature of occupants?) yes,no.see self tests below in comments below.the AZC has blower controller module.if blower dead fuse 1 in the PDC is the fuse to check. 40amp rating.and fuse 7, on this more complex system you must scan the PCM first to see if you have HVAC DTC errors.first (after fuses of course)The NON AZC (auto zone controlled) is called MANUAL.. (old skool)the car with the manual system does have the resistor block. for the DASH blower only.Fuse1 powers the blower and controller.561f5d3d-265b-4d66-a0cc-48bf175ed0b8.jpg

Routing diagram for transmission lines for 02 jeep grand cherokee 4.0

you asked 4 times! do we get this 5 times? please add to just one posting , of one problem. not keep asking over and over.... i answered 1. i showed you how to look at the jeep pages. pretend to buy the part from jeep and a link and the graphic there. showing what you have. its just 2 lines, and the order dont matter, the cooler is not polarized. that means the cooler works backwards too.. in the RAD. the Loredo.? here again, 2nd time. http://www.factorychryslerparts.com/showAssembly.aspx?ukey_product=4356222&ukey_assembly=563497 got that? hows this. 4.0L next time if working on cars use the cell cam, to document order of lines. or marke them with tape. R/F , L/F etc.(both ends)that way , no guessing later, even 1 year later.or buy the FSM and not have to wonder at every oops? here is the link to the real BOOK.https://www.techauthority.com/en-US/Pages/FacetSearchResults.aspx?make=Jeep&year=2002&model=GRAND+CHEROKEE+LAREDO&engine=4.0L+6+CYL+%28MPI%29&producttype=All+Product+Types&ptCatId=All+Product+Types 25719792-hn0kodpeugglx5i5nhvgnujg-5-0.jpg

Routing diagram of transmission lines for a 02 jeep grand cherokee 4.o

the oil lines? (oil is key word here)or AFT lines. Are there missing parts? we cant guess this, no photos. so....??? well the rad cooler lines are not polarized, its just pipe inside. that is all there is there. so route it as you feel. depends on what transmission is there.... so my guess, is the previous owner monkeyed this all up wrong? or you are removing aftermaket coolers, or just what.????? it comes off and goes back just the same... The fsm might show this. ever seen one. posted 1000 times. wj Grand. 42RE box? or 42RFE the lines hard can very by engine , tranny forward then 2 flex lines to the RAD, so engine can move and not break the lines. so if parts are missing, look on jeep.com? why not just look at jeep for free like here http://www.factorychryslerparts.com/showAssembly.aspx?ukey_product=4356222&ukey_assembly=563497 i had to guess, engine and trans. so correct my errors there.

Air conditioning on 2002Jeep Grand Cherokee does blow cold enough Added charge to low suction line but still blows the same also the same line seems to have moisture where the aluminum and rubber meet

To much refrigerant will be the same as to little ! You should take it to a certified technician you knows what he's doing ! Technicians such as myself have to be certified to fix A/C system , they should not sell refrigerant to the public ! Did you change the orifice tube or the THX valve , which ever it has ! Sounds like it's plugged !

Why won't it move?

Jack up the Vehicle and put stands under it. Disconnect the Battery for Safety, turn your key to the On Position and have someone move the Gear Shift while you watch the shift lever on the side on the Transmission that is connected to the Shift Cable. If working properly it you should see the lever move to each gear position. If it does not move you have a problem at the Gear Shift end, if it does move your problem is the Transmission itself and is internal. Also check your Transmission Fluid, if low fill to the recommended level. Also smell the fluid on the dipstick, if it has a burnt smell you have internal problems and will need to have it rebuilt.
