My Death Wobble started immediately after I installed a set of Coil Spring Spacers (to lift 1.75 inches) on my stock 2005 Jeep Wrangler X. Turned out, the DW was because while changing the height, I also lowered the CASTER angle in the front end. So, to fix it, I could have purchased a set of eccentric bolts for $50+. Instead I went out and purchased a piece of 1.5 inch flat bar for $10 from OSH. I cut out 4 1.5 inch squares. Then i drilled 7/16 inch holes centerline, but close to one side (in exactly the same place) on all for squares. I then removed the lower control arm bolts, nuts and washers. I installed these square offset washers I made so the front axle would be pushed forward (to increase the Caster angle). The toe setting changed a bit, so I reset them to about 1/8 inch toe in. After driving my Jeep, I noticed there is no more DW. The steering wheel was off center, but after 3 attempts, I have that perfectly centered. I have every intension of having the alignment checked, but not till after I find the new tires I want. If anyone is interested, I can draw out and photograph the cure and send it to you. My e-mail is bb62471(at)yahoo(dot)com.

2004 Jeep wrangler 4.0 - 6cyl overheating

My 2004 jeep wrangler was overheating, so I replace the thermostat...thought there might have been a leak in my radiator but it turned out to be just a faulty radiator cap...however with the new thermostat the engine still overheats...when I remove the thermostat completely the engine runs perfectly fine at normal temperature...could have been just a faulty thermostat...should I try installing a new thermostat once again? Any insight would be helpful

I had the same overheating problem in my jeep ! My problem was finaly found out to be the clutch in my fan its a different kind of clutch system it work as this. When your jeep gets warmer the tighter your fan clutch gets .While cool your fan moves slowly. now to test your clutch just warm up your jeep and rev it up a bit if your fan dose not pick up speed then it is sliping. What will come out of this is that you fan will the seez and run full all the time. if you jeep dose not overheat wile moving then it is not your thermo stat period.

I tow my 2005 Jeep Wrangler behind my motor home. I installed a Jeep trailer towing wiring kit to the rear lights. the bought a long trailer wiring kit and ran it from the front of the Jeep to the Jeep tralier wire plug. Pluged it in and pluged the other end into the motor home trailer light recptacle. I used only four wires plus ground. There is probably a way you could tap into the wiring harnes under the hood but not having a wiring diagram this is the best I could come up with and all lights do work. You can buy a test plug with led lights that plugs in both male and female, real handy for checking connections.

Where is the MAF sensor on a Jeep Wrangler 04

Where is the MAF sensor on a Jeep Wrangler 04

Locate the air filter box. From the box, there should be a large hose going toward the engine (air intake). There will be a few fasteners around the hose holding a smallish black box off to the side. The MAF sensor is inside that large hose, near that black box. It should be in the center of a plastic circular harness within the hose once you disassemble it. Be careful with the sensor, they are extremely sensitive to solvents. Use MAF sensor cleaner ONLY if you want to clean it (recommended for better MPG around every 20-50K miles). Hope that helps!

Nope it does not. You need to pull the fuel line from the fuel rail and use a special hose adapter that is installed in between. A gauge is then attached to the adapter and fuel pressure can be read.

DTC's P1686 P1687

Hi have 2001 grand Cherokee I was driving and I lost all the gauges but truck ran fine. I then disconnected the battery to reset the controllers, now the truck starts and stalls in 2 seconds. The first code comes up is P1687 then the P1686 code comes up

Code 1687 means the computer lost power, probably when you disconnected the battery. Code 1686 means the computer is not talking to the instrument panel.
It could be the cluster or a wiring problem. Since you disconnected the battery, the computer may have to re-learn its parameters to know what the base idle should be. You may have to try to drive it a few miles.
