does car drive.?
if it runs , is the CEL lamp in cluster out
is the charge/battery./GEn light OUT?>
is this USA spec car, or where? (Wiring varies by country)
check both fuse boxes, not just one?
2007 i think they went to 1 box under hood.
but 2005 is many box car, IIRC.
you need to scan the PCM first.
no scan tool?, no joy,
if it shows DTC errors, you need to post those first.
i have the FSM, ill look at one fail.
WK jeep Gen 3
ill do backup lights, as i cant figure others out, "rear indicator" mean R/R blinker or turn signals dead?
id need to drive car. (need all things working and not, , not just cheery picked)
id need to see if all cluster warning lights glow key on
and if i turn the HL switch to park does the cluster lamps glow?
called illumination lamps in cluster.
the GC is very complex electrical, not like some old CJ.
very complex.
(no problem) but we scan it first. why not do that. so we dont have to node test , vast things with my meter..... volt meter....
ok , no scan tool, for $10 (elm costs that and works)
do all exterior park lamps work (you said heads work but parks ,are they all good)?>
ok im in chapter 8W now, wiring.
100 pages deep....
back up page, 54-1, fuse 9
if fuse one is hot both sides the lamps glow.white.
the relay is controlled by Module front control (MFC)
if the model fails to close the relay , that means it was never told to.
if the PCM or BCM fails to see reverse selected or fails to communicate this fact to the MFC then the PCM or BCM
sets errors, called DTC errors.
it will tell you, for example comms are dead.
or the MFC is not talking
or other errors related.
your car has a network, if its dead, things die.
the network must be working right.
that takes just a fully charged battery, is it.
is battery at 12.6vdc rested?????????
no 10v. but 12.6 volts. (dont own a $10 volt meter? yet?)
the MFC is inside the MIP, module integrated power .
the MFC is messing up, my guess.!
it runs backups and blinks, even in the rear. dispite its name FRONT.
Id say the MFC is not bad, it;s
1: scrambled? (lost 12vdc power?) to it or weak battery.
2: comms to it are failing. (seems its half working,, implying to me garbled data transmissions to it , on the network.
scan it, or never know... why.
it can be reset, by pulling fuses. to it.
sorry for crapppy photos, on fixya,. they shrink it to near useless...
