1999 Plymouth neon check egine light will not go
The information below was complied by me, it explains what causes the check engine light to come on and the process of finding the cause.
When the Check Engine light (or Service Engine Soon) is turned on, the systems computer control unit (called the PCM) has sensed a fault in the electronic controls of the engine and/or the emission system. When this happens you will seldom feel the car engine run any different. There are about 200 possible system faults (the gas cap is just one of them) that turn the Check Engine light on, to know what has developed a problem you must have the system tested, this is called an OBD2 fault code test, Kragen/Oriley and Autozone parts stores (USA only) do this testing for free.

Even though the alternator was tested , it was probably tested for a charge. I dont know if you removed it and had it bench tested or had it checked in car. You may have a draw in your electrical system somewhere. It could bae a bad diode in the alternator or it could be a glove box light staying on or a trunk light staying on.Or or or ? All of these things require testing each circuit. What you can do to see if you have a draw on the battery when you shut it off is to remove the negative battery cable and place a 12v test light from the negative battery cable to the negative battery post. If the light comes on you have a power draw in your system somewhere. If you dont have a test light you can pick one up at your local parts house. You dont need anything fancy just a cheap one will work fine. The things above are the most common. Depending on how many miles or should I say starts you have on your car you might take a look at your ignition switch and make sure it is turning off all the way before you pull the key out. Sometimes the key gets worn and does not need to go all the way to the off position before it can be pulled out.
Car doesnt rev up
sounds ike it could be the Crank sensor, do you have the OBDII code off hand?
What happens when your fuse pump goes out on a
do you mean fuel pump? well if it stops working then no fuel will get pumped to motor and car will not start but it will still crank over. spray starting fluid into air intake and see if car starts, if it does it will only run for a couple seconds, then your engine is not getting fuel.
I have a 96 Plymoth
There is no OBDII code for you car that is 5, your crank and cam sensor is what tell the computor when to send a signal to fire the cylinder, sounds like a weak coil, you can take it off and autozone can test them, I don't recommend buying one from them, get a good one from the dealer, it's a little bit pricey, much better part.
Location of fan relay switch 1994 neon
The dodge neon fan switch is located on the front left inner frame behind the radiator, Take note this relay doesnt look like a normal relay, it looks like a module type, heres a picture of it. also take a look at the connector and make sure its not melting or rotted. the most common reason for a relay like this going bad is due to a bad fan, it draws to much, make sure the fan is good, replacing the relay with a bad fan will make the relay go bad in a few months, good day, hope this helps.
I would like to know
The 98 and 99 neons don't have a fuel filter, they have a fuel screen that is right in line with the fuel pump. If your car is not starting and blowing fuses for the fuel pump, you will need a new fuel pump.

if it is a trouble code for the downstream oygen sensor, or cataylist below threshold, it pertains to the catalyitic converter. I would check that if i understand you correctly.
We replaced the Water pump
If its not getting spark the choices are limited. You already replaced the coil pack so whats left is ignition module, crank sensor, knock sensor, cam sensor, or the timing was not was not set properly when putting it back together. Any one of those would create a no spark situation.
My '99 Plymouth Neon has recently started to shift
A common problem on Neons, ( happened to me on my 95 and 97 as well ) is the throttle pressure control linkage at the transmission seizes and causes hard shifting and sometimes your gas pedal feels stiffer as well when pushed to floor, but loose at top. The linkage is located on top of where the shifter linkage attaches to the transmission, basically under your battery tray on drivers side. Remove the battery, and look down under the tray and you should see it. The part you want to concentrate on is the linkage that sits on top.
WARNING!! Do not undo nut etc and remove it from the shaft it is attached to or you will end up getting it towed to tranny shop for repairs, as linkage drops down and transmission pan and some internal parts need to be removed to re-attach it. Just leave it alone. That linkage needs to move freely and independent of shifter linkage. You'll have to spray with WD-40 or similar, to work it loose and get it to turn back and forth all the way. (about 90 degree sweep) Once you have it moving freely, apply a good coat of white lithium spray grease to keep it protected and lubricated. This picture may help, even though its a little small.
Once that's freed up, your shifting problems should go away.

Your local salvage yard. If they don't have one, they can usually locate it at another yard.
