My car tires were the

Original tire
Sidewall: 4.73 in
Radius: 11.73 in
Diameter: 23.47 in
Circumf: 73.73 in
Revs/mile: 859.37
New Tire
Sidewall: 4.37 in
Radius: 11.87 in
Diameter: 23.74 in
Circumf: 74.58 in
Revs/mile: 849.54

Speedometer reading with new tire is 1.16% too slow.
When your speedometer is reading 60mph you are actually traveling 60.69mph.

2001 plymouth neon 2.0 mt

Make the FixYa experience better for everyone by voting.

Hi,

My name is Ben and I'm your guru, i.e., mentor, an influential teacher or popular expert: a management guru. - origin from Sanskrit, 'weighty, grave'.for today.

As you evaluate my advice, solutions and suggestions, there are a few things you must keep in mind:

• I did not diagnose your problem and am therefore only able to evaluate what you tell me. For example, if you ask me a fuse location, that doesn't mean that I can tell you the reason why the fuse blew. I can only react to the information that you provide. So please judge my suggestions accordingly.
• A thorough diagnostic approach involves the use of technical equipment, such as voltage meters. scanning equipment and other sophisticated devices. Diagnostic tools can be borrowed from AutoZone for FREE:
• Lastly, fixing one problem can very easily reveal a problem with something that you might consider unrelated. If that happens, you might want to view me as being incompetent. Just remember that I'm can only analyze and suggest on the basis of the information that you provide.

Your Description of Problem: 2001 plymouth neon 2.0 mt ...speedometer,tachometer,water temp dosen't work obd2 won't link error. all fuses good .all grounds good. starts , runs, and drives fine. tried the switch on/off/on/off/on. check engine light and oil light come on after 10 seconds, dosen't blink! possible pcm?

Discussion: The tracing of eletrical and electronic problems is moderately difficult but require patience and the ability to endure frustration.

Solution: Provide instructions on how to systematically trace electrical problems.

First Step: (You have probably performed most of these suggestions but it won't hurt to review them)

Do a Thorough Visual Inspection
Perform a thorough visual and "hands-on" underhood inspection before starting any diagnostic procedure! You can find the cause of many problems by just looking, thereby saving yourself a lot of time.
• Has the vehicle been serviced
recently? Sometimes things get
reconnected in the wrong place, or
not at all.
• Don't take shortcuts. Inspect hoses
and wiring which may be difficult to
see due to location.
• Inspect the air cleaner and
ductwork for defects.
• Check sensors and actuators for
damage.
• *Instrument panel wires for:
- Damaged terminals.
- Split or cracked wiring
- Splits, cuts or breaks in any circuit boards,
wires and insulation.
• Inspect all vacuum hoses for:
- Correct routing. Refer to vehicle
service manual.
- Pinches and kinks.
- Splits, cuts or breaks.
• Inspect wiring for:
- Contact with sharp edges.
- Contact with hot surfaces, such as
exhaust manifolds.
- Pinched, burned or chafed insulation.
- Proper routing and connections.
• *Check electrical connectors for:
- Corrosion on pins.
- Bent or damaged pins.
- Contacts not properly seated in
housing.
- Bad wire crimps to terminals

Second and final stage:

Step 1: Remember that anytime you have a problem with electronically controlled components such as an engine, instrumentation, transmission, ABS brake, or SRS (supplemental restraint system, Air Bag) inspect all fuses using a test light and check the under hood power distribution center and under dash fuse panels. If all fuses test okay continue to the next step.

Step 2: To check for problems with electronically controlled components such as an engine, instrumentation, transmission, ABS brake, or SRS (supplemental restraint system, Air Bag) and the fuses test okay, a trouble code scan is needed to identify any system trouble. Use a simple scanner tool to retrieve trouble codes and see if they relate to the specific problem, like a crank angle sensor failure code. If the trouble code present does not pertain to the immediate problem like an EVAP (Evaporative Emission Control System) code ignore it until a later time, after the car is running.

Step 3. Start the engine and do another diagnostic scan.

The reason we detect and repair non-related codes after the engine is running is because sometime false codes can be triggered by the engine not running. Once the engine is running again the code present might cycle and turn itself off. You might say "if the engine doesn't run shouldn't it have a trouble code?" Sometimes conditions occur that will not be detected by the computer, e.g.,if the fuel pump fails the computer cannot detect the failure, so the engine doesn't start and the computer thinks everything is okay with no codes. If no trouble codes are present proceed to the next step which is to test all of the relays and circuit breakers.

If you follow the above steps, you should be ale to diagnose your problem.

If you have trouble using the code scanner or interpreting the codes click on the following link and use my access code (carrepair): Free Automotive Repair information for Users of a Code Scanner

I know that the above is wordy but I wanted to do more than just tell you that your problem is complex and devoid of any easy solutions.

All the best,

Ben
