2003 Honda Element - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
Keyless entry no longer works
The dealer is probably right. The extreme cold, together with a lack of lubricant due to age, likely killed the actuator. If this seems too expensive, you might find a private shop to fix it for less.

Goes in gear but wont move
the clutch pressure plate is not engaging because the actuation is not working
If it is hydraulic then the problem may be in the master cylinder with a blocked compensating port or the slave cylinder piston is jammed in the out position and not returning
or if it is a cable operation the cable is jammed in the case and not allowing clutch operation

2003 Element overheating problem
have a compression test done for head gasket/ cracked head. Check that there is not an air lock in the cooling system. If it is overheating at stop lights or when going slow and you have a viscous fan hub then replace the fan hub. Check that the electric fan is coming on when it should.. Check that you put the thermostat in the right way round otherwisw it will not open and block the system
