if its early 05 round heart shaped remote it needs programming into system at dealer with Tech2
later 05 to 07 had square (rectangle) shaped remote
1.2 ID Code Additional Registration
Note: This procedure will add additional remotes to the Keyless Entry Control Units memory. A total of 4 remote transmitters may be programmed into the Keyless Entry Control Units memory. When a total of registered and newly registered remotes exceed 4, the oldest one shall be erased.
Step Action
1 Note: Make sure that all the doors are closed and unlocked. Insert the ignition key into the ignition switch.
Open the driver's side door.
2 Turn the Ignition key to the “ON” position and then to the “LOCK” position three times
(The key should remain in the “LOCK” position)
Note: This step must be carried out within five seconds.
3 “CLOSE” and “OPEN” the driver’s doors once (Leaving the driver’s door in the “OPEN” position)
Note: This step must be carried out within five seconds after step 2 is completed.
4 Wait for 8 seconds (This wait time is critical)
5 Turn the Ignition key “ON” and then to the “LOCK” position once and turn key to the “ON” position (The key should remain in the “ON” position)
OR on/lock once
Note: This step must be carried out eight seconds after step 3 is completed.
6 “CLOSE” the driver’s door
The HAZARD lights should flash 3 times (This acknowledges the Keyless Entry Control Unit has entered programming mode)
7 Operate the lock or unlock button of the transmitters to be programmed; a flash of the HAZARD lights indicates the remote has been successfully programmed into the control unit
8 The HAZARD lights will flash approx 4 seconds after pressing the remote button to indicate the Keyless Entry Control Unit has exited programming mode.

it's a holden rodeo turbo/diesel 2005.check 4wd light on

obviously check 4wd light is on and 4wd is not functioning(4H,4L) actuators in the transfer case and front axle was already replaced with brand new unit as we suspect it the cause of the problem. But is not.Apparently no 12v supply goes to the other end of the harness to trigger the actuators whenever you press 4H or 4L pushbutton in the dashboard. If only i know the procedure on how to reset or turn off the check 4wd light that could have restore the system function. We try to use a scanner hoping we could erase the trouble code unfortunately our equipment could not read anything about transmission or powertrains.I'm 100% sure no problem with the trans or transfer case.Thank you!

A mere 2,400km into the life of my 07 Rodeo TD 4WD, I used 4L for about 2km of medium-steep/slippery track. After stopping and selecting 2WD the 'Check 4WD' light appeared, meaning I was stuck in 2WD for the rest of that trip. Luckily I was able to complete the trip in 2WD without incident.

The dealer blamed me for 'not following the instructions in the manual' (utter codswallop), 'fixed' it, and very reluctantly gave me a scribbled set of instructions on resetting the system, which I've included below.

When I suggested that these instructions should be included in the manual, the response was 'not necessary if owners use the system correctly'. More cods.

Here's how to reset it:

1. Ignition off, hold all 3 buttons (2H, 4H & 4L) in together

2. Switch ignition on to 'reds' position (last position before start)

3. Hold in this state for 30 seconds

Hope this may be of use !!

Subject: 2004 isuzu rodeo...my ac/heater blower is not working

my ac/heater blower is not working when i turn through all four levels...im trying to figure out if it could be my resistor and where can i get one from (or order from online)....

The resistors are in circuit only on the lower fan speed settings.
On the highest speed setting, power is switched directly to the fan motor.
Check fan power supply fuses,
Check power is available to the fan when high speed selected.
If all above OK, apply power directly to the motor to verify fan motor runs- if it doesn't the motor may need replacement/repair.

2004 Rodeo s 3.5 (ECM)

2004 Rodeo s 3.5 (ECM) (ICU) security code for programming a used one I have my own Tech2

Answer

  • Most Helpful of 1 Answers

Immobilizer Circuit Operation
Immobilizer control unit (ICU) permits engine starting, when the security code which compares the security code registered into the transponder (key) and the security code registered into ICU, and is similarly registered into ICU and engine control unit (ECM) is compared and it is judged that it is normal. When the code registered into the key is unusual, and when not recognizing a security code, ICU does not permit starting of engine.
---------------------------- Electronic Control Moudle (ECM)

  • ECM in Virgin mode
  • In this mode, the ECM knows only the model vehicle identifier code. The engine can be locked/unlocked.ECM requests to ICU the VIN number. As soon as the ECM receives two correct consecutive communication frames with the same VIN code the ECM learns it.The VIN code will be stored in non-volatile memory at the end of power latch phase. ECM enters in Learnt mode.
  • ECM in Learnt mode
  • In such a state, ECM checks on every communication, the correct encoding of the ICU.
If the code received is not correct, then the vehicle is immobilized.
The coded 5 bytes of data emitted by ECM are a mixture of MIN code and random. The coded 5 bytes of data emitted by ICU are a mixture of VIN code and random.
  • ECM in Neutral mode
  • This mode is a special intermediate mode, used for ICU replacement or immobilizer option installation.ECM request to ICU the VIN number. As soon as the ECM receives two correct consecutive communication frames with the same VIN code the ECM learns it. The VIN code will be stored in non-volatile memory at the end of power latch phase. ECM enters in Learnt mode.
  • After turning on the ignition the ECM will control the engine in a normal way for starting and running while waiting for a valid release response message from the Immobilizer.
  1. After receiving a response message including the information "ICU in learnt mode" and the correct system VIN-code
  2. ? the ECM enters the release state, which allows to continue the running of the engine.
  3. After receiving a response message including the information "ICU in learnt mode" and a wrong system VIN-code
  4. ? the ECM does not send a new request and enters the blocked state, which causes the activation of the immobilization actions of the engine.
  5. If the ECM doesn't receive a response message within a defined time from beginning of the release time period or the ECM receives a no release answer
  6. ? the ECM enters the blocked state, which causes the activation of the immobilization actions of the engine.
    • The inactive state of the Immobilizer (valid key/invalid key) ends with turning off the ignition.
Try another key. The keys are chipped and maybe the one you are using has died.Get the key /transponder/key fob reprogrammed. A local locksmith has reprogramming unit to make the key work or the other option is dealer.

Thanks. keep updated for any more query.you can rate this solution and show your appreciation.
