89 jeep wrangler was carburated now has a Howell throttle body injection kit (kit was installed years ago) jeep has sat for 10 years now it will start but will not stay running without holding the key

check the ballast resistor near the coil. white thing with wires...run a wire from the +battery to the +coil and test (no more than 30 seconds) if it works, replace the ballast resistor.ballast should have 12v on one side and 7v on the other side with the ignition on.

I have a 1989 jeep wrangler it does not have a serpentine belt but rather 3 belts i need a diagram showing how those belts are suposed to be routed

Check with Autozone and discuss your problem. They know what they are talking about and have always come up with the right parts or belts for me. I used to be a mechanic in my youth and I never go anywhere else.........

1989 wrangler 2.5L won't turn off with new switch

Hi there:Bad installing or a problem with the connections. The most likely problem is a bad ignition switch. To find out for sure, remove the plastic covers over the steering column and remove the 2 screws holding the ignition switch in place. Make sure the mechanism coming from the key is turning the ignition switch. If the mechanism works fine, replace the ignition switch.I would suggest removing the ignition switch and checking the mechanism in the column to make sure it is actually turning the ignition switch off.You could have a wiring problem, you will have to follow all the wiring from the ignition switch down the column and into the harness, there is sure to be a short in the wiring harness, that is if as you said you replaced the ignition switch for a new one.To test this, remove the plastics around the steering column and pull out the wiring plug to the ignition switch, if the ignition turns off you have another faulty ignition switch if it stays on wiring harness has shorted out.Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.Thank you for using FixYa, have a nice day.
