2005 Honda Odyssey - Page 3 Questions & Answers
2005 Honda Odyssey does not start (no lights, no sound)
It sounds like you have either a Bad Alternator or a loose Belt or even a loose Battery Connection. The radio will only do this when the Battery is bad or has been changed out. Check the Belt Tension and the Battery Terminals for tightness. If the Belt is even a Little loose it will not allow the Alternator Charge the Battery. The code for the Radio will have to be gotten from the Local Dealership. Call and ask for Parts. The Parts Desk will be able to give you the code by Looking up your VIN Number.
What does Code B23 refer to
Oil Life?
After your oil change, hold down the trip reset button(i think it is) near the seat belt sing for about 15 secs. Then let go when Oil Life is flashing. Then press again and hold for about 5 secs.
My 2005 Odessay Touring van
Thanks for the info... that fixed the problem with the VSA light going on. The error code had nothing to do with the VSA system. Error code said I was low on oil. The dealer I brought it to said the VSA system will not work when you are low on oil. When the VSA warning light comes on, you loose 80% of your engine power because of it. They changed the oil and I have not had the VSA warning light go on since.
Honda odessey engine code p3100
There is no p3100 code!!
I think you copied this wrong. the code is p0301, which is a common one.
The P0301 code means that the cylinder 1 is misfiring or is randomly misfiring. Start by checking for intake leaks an if no leaks are found the next step is to replace the spark plugs on cylinder 1. If the problem persist more tests needs to be done to diagnose problem.
Possible causes
- Faulty spark plug 1
- Clogged or faulty fuel injector 1
- Faulty ignition coil 1
- Fuel injector 1 harness is open or shorted
- Fuel injector 1 circuit poor electrical connection
- Ignition coil 1 harness is open or shorted
- Ignition coil 1 circuit poor electrical connection
- Insufficient cylinder 1 compression
- Incorrect fuel pressure
- Intake air leak
Most likely cause:
Faulty spark plug 1 or Faulty ignition coil 1 (Ignitor coil)
Either are easy fixes. Start with a new spark plug. If the problem continues replace the coil. Pic below. new about $30-$40.
2005 honda odessey radioi code
You need the serial # and reference # off the sticker on the radio. Call or visit Honda with VIN and ser #'s and they will provide the unlock code for you. It's the only way to get it, if you lost the original audio card that came with the vehicle new. Look in the glove box, or door jambs for the extra ID sticker that should have been installed at PDI when the vehicle was new. Occasionally techs put the wrong one there that actually has the unlock code on it. If not, it's easy number gathering without needing to remove the radio.
What is recommended repair for power steering leak?
That problem does pose a fire risk. Power steering fluid is light weight oil. If the oil spreads to the manifold for the exhaust it can catch fire. IT is not clear where the leak is from what you have posted but the cost that you were quoted is way too high. A pump is not that expensive and neither are the hoses or the labor to work on them. The moving parts on the steering axle could be that expensive and rebuilding or replacing them can be costly.
