Notorious on the C70 this problem but if you are not a qualified Vehicle electrician my advise is DONT TOUCH. The cables on a Volvo are interconnected with so many different systems, if a cable is broken best to run a separate set of replacement cables to the faulty area. The problem is Volvo security systems are interwoven into nearly all the systems, you could end up with more problems than you wished for. Like a dead vehicle because the immobiliser has been activated and the car wont start at all ? best advise is to seek a qualified Vol.vo electrician .

If it smells sweet and is sticky it is your Heater Core leaking. IPD has all the parts and a Video on You Tube that makes it very easy.

Most likely you need to calibrate air vent flaps. Also one of the flap servos might be broken.

Take the serial number off the radio to a Volvo dealer along with your vehicle registration and they can get it for you free of charge.

The engine does not have a chain. If the belt broke or came off for some reason the engine will need to be disassembled and all the bent valves replaced.
