Throwing new parts at a car in response to fault codes in the vague hope it will provide a cure is not the best or the cheapest way to proceed.
Nothing should be replaced unless it can be justified by independent testing. A code reader is not an oracle and the results can be misleading. A fault code is merely the first step of a diagnosis process that is verified or rejected using live data from a scanner, oscilloscope checks, multimeter checks and a deal of experience.
It is often false economy not to pay for a high level of expertise from the start. Paying for skill and experience is often cheaper than a host of unnecessary new parts.

Remove the front mats, especially the one on the driver's foot well. If the carpet is wet, the heater core (matrix) needs replacing. When you buy the new one, ensure the two 'O' rings are the proper type and new as well. Otherwise, the thermostat is stuck closed or the water pump impeller is damaged. (Likely to hear a lot of noise from it, if so.) You can run the car without a thermostat at all if you live in temperate weather. (The gauge and fans operate from the temperature sensor which appears fine in your case as you've referred to them.)
