Watch a few video's on youtube on basic automotive electrical testing , how to read an use a wiring diagram . Check for B+ voltage at the relays at pin's 30 & 85 . If you pull the relay out of it's socket in the fuse box an look on the bottom you will see four set's of numbers . 30,87 this the load side . If it's stuck in park , problem with gear interlock system ! This is a safety system that will not allow gear shifter to be move with out foot pressing on the brake pedal . Remove the wire to the engine temp sensor and ground it...if dash gauge pegs replace the engine temp sensor. You can't fix the sensor, it's replace only.
If the gauge in the instrument panel is tango uniform you'll have t? replace the instrument cluster or the gauge if it's separable. Check with your lincoln/mercury dealer or Ford (they picked up mercury) dealer to find ?ut.
It could be, but there are so many possibilities that, without more information, the only thing I can recommend is to take it to a reliable service provider in your area.
Sounds like a fuse. Please use a good flashlight and look at your fuse box. There could be a blown fuse. Good luck and try to have a wonderful day Ryan.
