Remove the wire to the engine temp sensor and ground it...if dash gauge pegs replace the engine temp sensor. You can't fix the sensor, it's replace only. If the gauge in the instrument panel is tango uniform you'll have t? replace the instrument cluster or the gauge if it's separable. The ground wire could be corroded/damaged, sending unit in tank faulty, fuel level gauge in cluster faulty.
