My mercury Mystique shutters when the heater is
BELIEVE IT OR NOT I THINK ITS YOUR ALTERNATOR! THIS IS TYPICAL FOR THE MYSTIQUE OR SHOULD I SAY (MISTAKE). NOTHING YOU CAN DO , ITS AN ELECTRICAL DESIGN FLAW. THE CARS ARE TO ELECTRONIC FOR THEIR ALTERNATORS OUTPUT. OF COURSE THIS IS MY OWN ASSUMPTION. THEY ARE AN ELECTRICAL NIGHTMARE. HOWEVER I DID FINALLY FIX THE PROBLEM I HAD WITH MINE.( I SOLD IT!)

Loss of blower fan, turn
Check for a blown fuse. This vehicle has a safety feature that allows it to switch gears only when the brake pedal is depressed and the ignition is turned forward. When the brake pedal is depressed it sends a voltage signal to the shift interlock solenoid that then allows it to shift. You can manually unlock the shifter by inserting a pin into the arperture on the left side of the center console. Push the locking lever rearwards to allow the selector lever to be moved. Also check to see if your brake lights are working this is where the shift interlock solenoid gets the voltage from if they are working chances are the shift interlock solenoid has gone bad.

The seat belt wont buckle what do i do
Make sure there is not a coin or other thin debris that has gotten into it first. Take shop vac or carwash vac and put up to slot then try again. if still no buckling then try something like WD40 spray into slot tnd work it in, do this a few times. If you can still not get it to bucklethen it sounds like you need to get a new or used buckle.

Steam coming from engine
hi,
how far away is the repairman?
if its less than 2 miles then go ahead.
fill up the coolant reservoir AND the radiator
locate the radiator cap and fill it too.
I dont recommend doing it if you cant fill up the radiator.
go early in the morning before it gets hot.
if it starts to boil shut it off at the lights.
take extra water with you and a rag or gloves and of course the phone.
good luck

1995 MErcury Mystique overheating
Recalls never expire. The only recall that had anything to do with the cooling system was 00S44 for the cooling fan bearing seizing which you stated that you had cooling fan is working so it does not sound like your problem. You can check your vehicle for recalls at this site
http://www.genuineservice.com/genuineservice/en/default?page=genuineService. Just look down the left side task bar and pick recalls and insert your VIN number.
What sounds like it might be your problem may be the water pump itself. These had plastic impeller blades on the pump and they have probably seperated from the pump shaft.
