I have a 1996 suzuki swift, why does engine stall out when I put into gear, like torque converter is locking up.I changed converter?

low engine power.. which engine, there are 7 . ever put in a new timing belt , 60,000 mles service it is. if not it slips and power goes byebye. if you use your right foot to stop the stall does it, and if you do that do you get full power>? if yes, yes, then the ISC is stuck closed or EGR stuck open. the ECU raises the ISC valve to keep a/t from stalling, it open the valve at the moment of the shift to any gear. P/n to any gears. if it cant open it will stall. that is how the idle controls work.

Suzuki swift gti 1996 starts but cuts out after 5 seconds

When starting/cranking, computer will activate fuel relay so that it will start. Once running there are fail safes built in - no oil pressure, bad signal from crank angle sensor or throttle position sensor, crash sensor activated (stops fuel pump) or even immobilizer faulty. Will it idle with Mass Air Flow sensor unplugged? Could be a broken wire or bad connector. Hope you have found problem by now! An auto electrician will find it very quickly.

No spark on coil

it's a 96, in usa, (are you) id bet not. Getting ECU scan data called DTCs ,etc."trouble codes" USA we scan it. and get the DTC errors. (OBD2) not USA, it's the lamp blink marakley way (OBD1) both ECUs willshow you DTCs. (no spark) and maybe WHY if the CMP sensors and some engines, CKP/CMP are bad you will get codes, 41,42, or P0340/355 (USA) which engine,? they have 2 . always post engine 1.3 L M13A I4 (petrol) 1.5 L M15A I4 (petrol) 1.3 L I4 (diesel) (nah ? no, spark here) ENGINE: if not sure, open hood (all comment for me are USA) and look up under hood and see EPA, smog /vacuum map sticker ,see that. see that statement of what engine this is? bingo. if not on other countries, the fire wall tag , near battery shows same. if car is 96 use any scan tool made. if car is not OBD2 then place the diagnostic jumper and count flashes tell more get more.... have full specs on car. the car with too many names, see the list (helps find more facts , knowing this fact) The Swift was marketed in the Japanese domestic market (JDM) as the Cultus and elsewhere as the Suzuki Forsa, Suzuki Jazz, Chevrolet Swift, Chevrolet Sprint and Sprint Metro, Geo and Chevrolet Metro, Pontiac Firefly, Maruti 1000, Holden Barina and Subaru Justy. Versions of the second generation Cultus were also produced until 2007 in India and the car remains in production today in Pakistan. end quote: i have only 2 questions, what country. what engine options. (4000 posts now, for that and not 1 replay) Despite public perceptions, (wrong) all cars are not all the same world wide. not by a long shot. (end rant) try here, see the same warnings at the top. now the best. (read here) http://www.teamswift.net/viewforum.php?f=2&sid=26182fda740f9f2d156b52f0222b893c

2010 suzuki sx4 no spark on coil

first check all fuses !!!! Problem with 1996 Suzuki Swift????????????????????? 2010 suzuki sx4 no spark on coil???????????????? SX4? (J20 suzuki engine?) Japanese automaker Suzuki and Italian automaker FIAT 8 different engines used (world-wide), so post engine option. usa 3: 2010 COILS: on all coils?, (you posted 1996 and 2010 at same time) and swift and SX4 at same time. my guess, is you piggybacked on the swift post with SX4 question, instead of starting a fresh new post? The SX4 has, COPS are all 4 dead? it has 4 coils, called COPS. or PACK WITH COILS INSIDE, IN 2010 we had these optios, which one is yours? yours is not diesel, as you stated spark. so... down to 2 engine.s the 2010 model year, SX4 five-door hatchback is available with a 1.6 L DOHC VVT engine, 2.0 L DOHC VVT engine and 2.0 L DDiS diesel engine (16 valve, 135 PS (99 kW; 133 hp) with 320 N·m (240 lb·ft) torque) on the AWD version. aka: J20A or J20B engines. the B has VVT cam. my guess? is it's a Suzuki engine in a fiat body?

How much oil does a 1998 swift hold

best guess, most cars hold about 5 quarts. if you are changing the oil, put in 4 quarts and then check the level after you start the car and let it run for a minute. don't check it right away. give it a minute for the oil to get back down to the oil pan.

Where do I fill the manual gearbox on my '97

you should the filler / oil level plug on the side of the gear box about halfway up, it can be on either side, you will have to do this from under the vehicle this plug is both filler & oil level you will most likely need a special equipment to get the oil in, it is like a large syringe with a tube on the end of it (about12" long) you **** the oil with it & fill the gearbox that way until the oil runs out of the plug hole........hope this helps.......cheers.

Where in the engine do i add brake fluid for

Brake fluid is always added to the brake master cylinder. The brake master cylinder is always located directly in front of the brake pedal in the engine compartment.
You should never have to add brake fluid. The brake hydraulic system is a sealed circuit and the fluid does not evaporate, nor does the brake fluid need replenishing due to "normal use". If you are having to add brake fluid to your master cylinder, there is a serious problem with your brakes that needs to be fixed.
