I recently changed the battery in my 2001 Audi A6.
each radio has a code about 13 digits and maybe a couple letters mixed in with it. You have to get code from original manual. I heard if you lose it its very difficult to get.again but is possible. Its only a safety procedure in case someone else stole the radio it won't work for them.

Light smoke is coming from
I don't know which engine you have but if it's a V6 it's very likely the valve cover gaskets - they tend to get brittle and allow oil leakage. If the smoke is from the sides of the engine that's likely the cause. If it's from the rear it's probably a half-moon seal.

Rear windows of audi a6 only work from the front
If the window fuse was blown none of them would work. You have a switch problem - either the two rear door switches both failed, or you have broken wiring going to the window motors from the rear switches. It's also possible (if the door panels were removed) that the rear switch harnesses are not plugged in.

Passenger footwell wet
Hi there?
There are 2 things that can cause that. At the botom of the windscreen under the cover next to the brake servo, there is a hole for the rain water to escape. Make sure this is not blocked, because the water will gather up and enter through the pollen filter inside the car.
Second thing that could be is the heater metrix which is located behind the dashbard. check if the engine water level is not low. If it is then it's a good possibility that the heater may be leaking.

Need security code for 2001
IMPORTANT NOTE:
You must have the security anti-theft code for your Audi radio from the car manufacturer, or from an Audi dealer!
You can find the radio code at: http://www.radio-code.co.uk/
The sequence of programming for a 2001 Audi A6 radio is:
1. Push simultaneous "SCAN" and "RDS" keys until on the screen will appear "1000" displayed.
2. Release keys. No more push on "SCAN" and "RDS" keys because otherwise number "1000" will be considered as first safe code attempt.
For example: we have the security code "5079". Then:
3. By the no.# 1 key you will set up the first safe code digit. Push 5 times on the no.# 1 button. The "5" number will be setted.
4. By the no.# 2 key you will set up the second safe code digit. Push 10 times on the no.# 2 button. The "0" number will be setted.
5. By the no.# 3 key you will set up the third safe code digit. Push 7 times on the no.# 3 button. The "7" number will be setted.
6. By the no.# 4 key you will set up the four-th safe code digit. Push 9 times on the no.# 4 button. The "9" number will be setted.
7. Then push again simultaneous "SCAN" and "RDS" keys for confirm this safe code. On the screen will be displayed "SAFE" notice. Release keys! For few seconds a radio frequence will be displayed. The radio is now ready for use!

Audi a6 overheating the water pumb was replace a
Two issues:
One is check the fan clutch to make sure that the fan is turning on to cool the engine, also it is recommended since it overheated to change the thermostat.
2nd. This sounds like a MAF (Mass Air Flow Sensor Valve) or a EGR Valve, if you have a check engine light on, take it to your local parts store and they will scan it for you at least sending you in the right direction.

I have a 2001 Audi
Sometimes the rubber seal on the window is so tight that it grabs the window. Usually it doesn't matter how tight the seal is if the motor is good and strong. Sounds like your window motor is getting weak and will eventually have to be replaced.

Audi A6 2001 2.5td I have a burst hose on kerb
Hi there, you can replace the hose very easy by using a screwdriver or pliers to remove the clamps. Make sure your new hose got new hose clamps and slide it over the joint. Make sure you slide it over abou 20mm to 25 mm. Tighten the clamps and check your water with the right amount of antifreeze in.

I am looking to buy
Like most modern cars, they are pretty reliable if the required amount of servicing and care is given to them. The mileage is not excessive if the interior and body work is in good condition. One thing to take into account is that most work having to be done on an Audi is labour intensive and will therefore be pricey. If you are getting the car for a good price - OK, but then also, the resale value is not great so you want to look after it and keep it a good while. Hope that is what you were wanting to hear.

My 2001 Audi A6 displays service sign in the
this shouldnt be a problem, most cars will show something similar when started, this is usually for one of two reasons, its a test to let you know that all the lights and displays are working, and two when you first start your car, the computer doesnt see any oil pressure and momentarily turns on the check engine/ service light, but will go off when the computer gets a pressure reading. hope i was able to help!
