2004 Cadillac Deville. My dashboard information is not working on my 2004 Cadillac Deville

If all the lights on your dash seem to be off, the problem could be a bad fuse.

Locate the knob por dial that control the brightness of dashboard light.

Make sure the brightness control is turned on. If it is and the lights aren't working, the problemas may be a bad fuse.

Use your car manual and locate the dash fuse the fuse box is between under the steering wheel and the door. Pull out the fuse and use a test light by connecting the groud clamp to the metal and placing the other end where the fuse was. If the light come on, you need to replace the fuse.

My 2004 Cadillac Deville blows cool air on driver's side, hot on passenger side (set on Auto)

The HVAC control module handles all inputs from the dash and routes the correct airflow as commanded. Your problem will be related to a failure of one of the switches on the dash, a fault with the module or sticky/failure of one or more of the air valves in the HVAC box. It can be very hard to diagnose what the specific problem is, but given the noise, I think it will be related to the air valve operations (depends on whether the system is commanding cool or warm air at the time as to which one it is). You can get a code reader and see if there are any error codes in the system to see if that sheds light on the matter. Otherwise you will be stuck with a dealer visit.

Check engine light/torque converter

Blades inside a torque converter do "open and close" based on engine rpm, and they may not be working correctly. However, they should have given you the error code (DTC) which would tell you exactly what was going on. In any case, if you have a torque converter internal problem, it is almost always necessary to replace it as it does not contain any serviceable parts. If it has been a very long time since the transmission fluid was replaced, I would try that first because if you don't, a serious transmission failure is on the horizon.

The serial data line is the means by which the microprocessor-controlled modules in the vehicle communicate with each other. Once the scan tool is connected to the class 2 serial data line through the DLC, the scan tool can be used to monitor each module for diagnostic purposes and to check for diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs). Class 2 serial data is transmitted on a single wire at an average of 10.4 kbps. This value is an average; class 2 uses a variable pulse width modulation to carry data and depending on the message it may operate faster or slower. The bus will float at a nominal 7 volts during normal operation. Each module can pull this lower during the transmission. The bus is not at battery positive voltage or ground potential during normal operation. When the ignition switch is in RUN, each module communicating on the class 2 serial data line sends a state of health (SOH) message every 2 seconds to ensure that the module is operating properly. When a module stops communicating on the class 2 serial data line, for example, if the module loses power or ground, the SOH message it normally sends on the data line every 2 seconds disappears. Other modules on the class 2 serial data line, which expect to receive that SOH message, detect its absence; those modules in turn set an internal DTC associated with the loss of SOH of the non-communicating module. The DTC is unique to the module which is not communicating; for example, when the inflatable restraint sensing and diagnostic module (SDM) SOH message disappears, several modules set DTC U1088. Note that a loss of serial data DTC does not normally represent a failure of the module that set it. Your best bet ,take it to a qualified repair shop.

Operating information and commands are exchanged among the modules. When a module receives a message for a critical operating parameter, the module records the identification number of the module which sent the message. These node alive messages are used for State of Health monitoring. A critical operating parameter is one which, when not received, requires that the module use a default value for that parameter. When a module does not associate an identification number with at least one critical parameter within 5 seconds of beginning serial data communication, DTC U1000 or U1255 is set. When more than one critical parameter does not have an identification number associated with it, the DTC will only be reported once. The following modules communicate on the class 2 serial data circuit: • Audio amplifier • Cellular telephone module w/UV8 • Dash integration module (DIM) • Digital radio receiver • Driver door module (DDM) • Driver door switch assembly (DDSA) • Electronic brake control module (EBCM) • Electronic suspension control module (ESC) • Front passenger door module (FPDM) • Inflatable restraint sensing and diagnostic module (SDM) • Instrument panel cluster (IPC) • Instrument panel integration module (IPM) • HVAC control module - auxiliary • Left middle door module (LMDM) w/V4U • Left rear door module (LRDM) • Memory seat module (MSM) w/A45 • Powertrain control module (PCM) • Radio • Rear integration module (RIM) • Remote control door lock receiver (RCDLR) • Right middle door module (RMDM) w/V4U • Right rear door module (RRDM) • Steering column module w/N37 • Theft deterrent control module • Window switch - passenger front w/armored car • Vehicle communication interface module (VCIM) Your best bet ,take your vehicle to a qualified repair shop.

Windshield Wipers & Service Engine Soon Light

From your posting, I assume you replaced the O2 sensor before and the one after the cat converter. If you missed one, replace it. Otherwise, you need to look at the signals from these using an upscale code reader to be sure the ECM is getting correct readings. If the readings are a problem, you will need to check the connectors and wiring between these and the ECM (hopefully it's not the ECM itself). As far as the windshield wipers are concerned, if they work correctly at the full on position, what you are experiencing may be normal - you probably have a rain sensor on your windshield that takes over at lower wiper switch settings. If not, check the connectors at the motor (you may also have a failing logic board in the motor housing).

Vibration on 2004 Cadillac Deville

If a hub bearing was bad, it almost always would make noise, more so when changing lanes at higher speed. Outer CV joints make a loud low pitched rattle when turning (corners). Inner CV joints raise hell at high speed- bad shake! Sway links affect cornering and clunk when hitting rough patches of road surface. Is the vibration worse at 65 than at 50? If so, you are dealing with a wheel balance situation. Find an old time front end shop that will check the balance on the vehicle. You will have to turn off the traction control to do this or use an on-the-car wheel balancer. If you feel it at some low speeds at it comes back at other higher speeds, then you are dealing with tire roundness. Possible more than 1. More common than we would like.

2004 Deville: I am getting code B 1390 - Device Voltage Reference Input Circuit Malfunction - what do I do?

DTC B1390 -The DIM has an internal battery voltage sensor and a reference voltage. The DIM compares these two voltages via the two battery positive voltage circuits every 300 milliseconds. Do you know what the DIM is ? Conditions for Setting the DTC This code shall be set after 10 consecutive readings that the two battery positive voltages differ by 1 volt or greater. Turn OFF the ignition. Disconnect the dash integration module (DIM). Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF. Measure and record the voltage from both battery positive voltage circuits of the DIM to both ground circuits of the DIM. Compare the two recorded DIM battery positive voltage circuit voltages. Is the voltage difference less than the specified value? 1 V YES - Go to Step 5 NO - Go to Step 3 Test both DIM battery positive voltage circuits for a high resistance or an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems. How many speakers and what size does a 2004 Cadillac deville have

Depends on whether you have the Bose option or not. If so there are eight speakers - two on the windshield pillars (small), four in the doors (medium), one in the center of the dash (medium) and a sub-woofer in the back shelf. You should be aware that it is extremely difficult to use aftermarket speakers as the Deville versions are designed specifically for the installed audio system - you can try, but only GM dealers sell the correct replacements.

Indicates a low system voltage (below 9 volts) - battery is probably not charging or failing. Check the voltage directly at the battery and if OK, use a battery load checker to confirm it doesn't have a plate problem. If not OK, try replacing the battery; if OK check for other codes.
