P0138 code

Hi there:

That code means that sensor is reading high volttage. That doesn't mean the sensor is bad. It could be, or it could have shorted wiring between it and the pCM or the most likely is that the engine is running rich and the sensor is reading correctly.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.Thank you for using FixYa, have a nice day.

I have 97 Wrangler when running the battery gauge will drop to 0, if I continue to drive it will not start when i turn it off and resttart it. i have a new battery , the alternater is fine took it

It still sounds like an alternator issue when the vehicle is running you should be showing 14.4 volts going into the battery try a load on the system while checking this means turn everything on the blower the lights 4-ways the A/C everything then see if the charging system can keep up

No brake pressure 97 jeep wrangler

make sure the bleeder nipples are closed tightly. also check to make sure the bolt that connects the line to the caliper is seated on correctly and tight. also keep an eye on your brake fluid level. If there's no leaks anywhere you should almost never need to ad fluid.

I changed the alternator and battery on my jeep and it still will not hold a charge and die after running for a few minutes with a dead batttery

Your best bet is to take it to an Auto Zone, Pep Boys, or other reputable parts house. They'll test it for free. I know ... you can't get it there. Put a charger on the battery (disconnect it from the car). Get the battery fully charged, then take it there. A fully charged battery should run the car for about 10-20 miles depending on traffic, etc. By the way the voltage regulator is inside the computer, just behind the battery. If it's that, it's going to be expensive.

Why does my 1997 jeep wrangler backfire and buck? I just replaced the sensors and then the computer

My problem bucking/backfiring after 20min cool down was due to bad O2 exhaust sensor. Also discovered same during certain driving conditions was due to battery sliding into computer wiring harness disrupting sensor input/output signals. Cured problem by placing 1" spacer on rear battery clamp to push battery forward away from computer wiring harness. This cured the problem from ever reoccurring.

Cranking problems with 97 jeep 6 cylinder, with key on fuel pump not running, but did jump test on pump and pump is working, fuel gauge show empty, what can be the problem

Assuming you have the 4.0 six look on the fuel rail towards the front of the engine and find a small black cap that looks like a valve stem cap on a tire. Remove this cap and place a pressure gauge on the line. You should have about 40 PSI. If the fuel pump is running as you say then yo u should have pressure. There is also a micro screen on the fuel pump in the fuel tank which can get plugged up. But, usually the vehicle will start and starve for fuel when accelerating. If you don't have the required pressure delivery at the fuel rail then the problem is probably with the fuel pump located in the fuel tank. This is just a starting point for you. Hope this steers you in the right direction.
