I need to check and
Under the hood there will be a dipstick marked for transmission. You need to check the fluid level while the engine is running. If you need to add fluid, you use a funnel and pour the fluid in through dipstick tube.

SecuriLock System
Hi
I know on my commodore it has a code that I can enter I need to access this by using the buttons on the dash that are used for checking fuel level till empty, distance to go, distance travelled etc.
Could be the same for you worth a try problem is you need the code for your car.
Most are factory set at 0000 but you only get a couple of goes.
Regards Craig

Grinding noise from rear of 1999 Grand Marquis
doubt it very much
the only gears in action are the axle spider ( spur gears ) and they turn very slowly on turns
pinion and crown wheel, noise are growls and whines depending if accelerating or costing and makes no difference if turning or straight ahead That should save you $ $1500.00 for a diff center that costs only $450.00
indicates wheel bearings or brake pads ( linings ) worn out and the callipers rubbing on the rotor ( drum)
I would be checking at the wheels and wheel bearings for the problem

I have a 1999 Mercury
first swap to a front tyre to eliminate that issue
new bearing shouldn't be rumbling
to get the bearing square on and home
did you use a press to fit the bearing to the rear axle
or tube method ?
and did the seal kit have this nifty plastic seal fitter so axle didn;t rip the seal surface

How to remove windshield wiper motor off of 1999 mercury marqui
Wiper motors on this car are a very rare failure, so have you jumped 12 volts to the wiper motor and does it work or not, do that before you tear into it. The switch is the more common issue. Also the wiper motor can be tested with a Ford special scan tool called and "NGS", it runs the wiper motor through it's cycles by controlling the BCM..
