Cleaned my dashboard with window cleaner, now my running lights will not turn off. A day later my heater fan just stopped working. Heater fuses are fine. How/where do I find the vent motor?

runing light switch is on top of the steering wheel. the blower motor is in the passenger foot well. both issues sound unrelated.

1989 Subaru GL Wagon, told I need both axels replaced and ball joints as well as brakes replaced, for $500.00. Is that too much?

That whole deals sounds fishy. Brake job should be about $100 depending on parts. That part about needing to replace axle to replace ball joints doesn't sound right. I've been a diesel mechanic for 30 yrs and bought, drove and fixed used cars a bunch. Not that specific one, but plenty of them. Get another opinion.

How do I replace 1989 subrau main bearungs

IF it has a 2 piece block (like the old VW engines ) then you will have to pull the engine . To get the correct answer I suggest that you invest in a good workshop manual for the vehicle and study it . It will have all the necessary information that you will need to do the job.

87 Subaru GL wagon. Clicks when key is turned.

It def sounds like a starter prob, if you have replaced the wires its more than likely the starter motor itself, also check the battery voltage

Plugs are not firing on left bank. Replaced dist. wites plugs and the dist. itself

Are you sure its not a fuel issue? If you replaced the Dist cap, Rotor,Wires,Plugs and the main Distributor, spark should not be an issue. Unless the coil isn't producing enough juice to fire all cylinders. I would replace the coil.

How do i replace my heater core? my heater stopped

heater core would need to remove the inside lower dashboard near the glove box - be careful you may be messing near airbag sensors as well,. are you sure it is the heater core, not the fan?
The BEST way is to grab a chilton.s or haynes repair manual - from your local parts store or otherwise check out at your local library - call ahead to be sure it is in stock at either place... you might find it at the library, there is also one place online you could subscribe to for the same fee, not sure the website name, your parts store would also know.
Best regards
Ck

Aprox. 4 - 4.5 qts.No your car will not blow up,the oil will likely burn off,but don't do it too often because it can foul the spark plugs out and damage the catalytic converter.

Wires run from my battery

Ummmm, not too sure about your exact setup, but your description sound like high resistance electrical issue. Connections carrying heavier loads often fail. The only long term fix is to completely replace or wire around the failed area, anything else gives short repair life.

You MUST follow the wire back far enough to be past ALL evidence of overheat. Oxidation happens after the wiring overheats, and you cannot connect to these areas on the wires.

I have A 1989 subaru gl I put A belt on the ac

i havent seen it only you have but yes it could be a freon leak ,this is what comes of these tins of gas which should be banned ,you must use the proper machine as it weighs the gas ,also it will vacumn the unit so you just leave it connected to the machine for 10 mins and any loss of vacumn indicates a gas leak .simple but these cans of gas cause more hassle than enough also this causes ozone depletetion and selling it through outlets where it can get into untrained hands?? to be be used in known leaky systems .Not a good idea
