Mike, I have a Subaru Tribeca B9. THe passenger side blows cold air and drivers is hot.

Chlorine in factory coolant has caused corrosion and damaged the heater core (there was a recall on this WWY-09 which my subaru dealer denied!) flushing wont help. Heater core needs to be replaced.

Where is the crank sensor located on a 06 tribeca?

Looking at your engine, the largest pulley on the bottom is your crank pulley, right above it, and below your timing cover is where you'll find it

How much oil do I put in my 06 subaru tribeca when changing oil and filter?

I would always go with the manual over what anybody else is telling you. But if you want to be sure you're putting in the right amount I find it best to use just slightly less than the quantity given in the manual as your starting point. So since it says 5.8 quarts, I would normally put about 5.5 quarts in. Then start the engine so that the oil gets pumped through everything and you'll get a more accurate oil level reading. Then use the dipstick to measure the oil level and see where it's at. Add more little by little until you're roughly in the middle of the min and max lines on the dipstick.

06 B9 tribeca.Flashing engine light,traction control and cruise lights stays on,Misfire in #1 and #6 cylinders.Changed plugs, fuel injectors, and ignition packs,also replaced the O2 sensor....HELP!!

I would be concerned that this issue is serious. Given all the parts that have been replaced already. First get a leak down test performed to narrow down a possible cause. Both sides of the engine will require this test. this will help determine a course of action . Here is a list of possible causes: 1. a plugged or restricted catalytic converter(s) 2. carbon buildup on the valves causing them to not fully close 3. issues with the active valve control system 4. less likely but possible the timing chain might have skipped

Cruise light flashing,traction light &

Yes, 86K is unexpectedly soon for a valve job. 200K is more likely. You've replaced the usual suspects, so its time to look further. Valve (or head gasket) problems can be identified with a dry and wet compression test AND a leakdown test. You really don't want to pay for a valve job (i.e both heads, gaskets and timing belt while you're there...) if its not needed. Other things to look for are vacuum leaks and exhaust leaks (odd effects can with these). Watch the coolant level: if its going down, its either leaking or burning == head gasket on the way out. Burnign coolant also creates while smoke. If the gas economy is way off, the catalytic converter could be damaged (unburned gas in the exhaust wrecks the cat).

if manual ( not specified) reverse gear is a spur cut gear and will be noisy when engaged gets worse if the gear has been engaged inadvertently or slashed by mistake as small pieces of the teeth get chipped off and the result is a noisy reverse operation nothing to worry about til it starts to clunk as you are going in reverse

06 subaru b9 tribeca limited 5-passager, my check engine light started blinking, cruise and traction control came on. computer said number one cylinder misfire, we have replaced all 6 spark plugs ?

Hi! I've owned a 2013 Tribeca for over a year now. I purchased a bluetooth OBDII reader and use Torque Lite on my android smart phone to read and understand the codes. You can also clear off logged faults. I was on the freeway this summer and got a worrisome transmission error code, checked the code, cleared it, turned my car off and back on, everything was fine. If someone recently changed your sparkplugs, they may not have re-attached something properly. You can try removing the negative/black cable off your battery for 10 seconds then re-attach it securely and see if that resets the code at all. If not, take it back to the mechanic that changed your plugs. ELM327 Bluetooth OBD2 OBDII Car Code Reader Diagnostic Scanner For Android...
