When my engine iscold it takes forever for the converter to finally lok up

TCC locks at high speeds. where is yours failing, how fast.? so at what speed, do you expect TCC lockup.? unless you have tranny slip.. a whole other problem in any gear. this old tranny has, pure mechanical ops. no TCM here. most old tranny have the foolwing inputs. 1: driver right foot called the TV cable or detent or passing gear cable. it can stick and cause late shifting 2: Tail shaft speed, this is the tail speed governor that shifts by speed. 3: the load vacuum modulator that shifts by engine load (vacuum) 4:gear lever positions PRNDL. the 5th input is the TCC relay that the ECU controls the ECU activates it under inputs of RPM and MPH (VSS1) so if the relay closes at the right speed, then the ECU and relay are working, if the TCC lock up is delayed, then the TCC internal solenoid is bad, leaks or the acutal lockup is bad or pump pressure is too low, or any leaks from the solenoid to the locker slave.

My 87 legend want start with the key

I cant tell you for sure why your 87 DR200 motorcycle wont start by popping the clutch. You need to contact your mechanic and have them take a look at your bike so they can diagnose the cause of the problem. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------super vag k+can

SMOG test passed ALL except

I've had good luck using CRC's "Guaranteed to pass" fuel system cleaner. Follow the directions exactly. It should bring all the smog numbers down--perhaps get your NOx number low enough.

If the EGR valve is not working properly, it will lead to high NOx. Check for a leaky vacuum diaphragm on this valve. It will not only keep the EGR from working when it should, but also lead to a lean mixture that burns hotter, thus generating even more NOx.

Check for vacuum leaks. Any extra air that makes the mixture lean will contribute to high combustion temperatures and high NOx--even if the EGR valve is working.

Finally, if those steps don't work, it could be your catalytic converter is getting old and inefficient. Don't be surprised if you need a new 'cat.

When i turn the key to start the car,all the elec.

Dead battery, charge it or buy a new one or jump it. You have enough juice to play radio and lights, but you dont have the cranking amps to turn the motor over. Thats why it clicks

How do i set my distributor advance for 2.5liter,

15 degrees BTDC according to autozone.com

  1. Start engine and allow it to warm up until the cooling fan comes on.
  2. Connect a timing light to engine; while engine idles, point light toward pointer on timing belt cover.
  3. Inspect ignition timing at idle. Timing should be 15plus or minus2 degrees BTDC, using the RED timing mark, at 680plus or minus50 rpm in N .
    1. If timing adjustment is necessary, complete following:
    1. Remove control box upper cover and ignition timing adjuster from control box.
    2. Drill 2 rivets off with a 1 / 8 in. drill bit, then separate stay cover from adjuster.

The ac in my '87 Acura Legend sometimes works and

Mine wasn't a LS but the freon too low to have the compressor clutch switch on. The R12 cans are expensive if you can find them. On one 87 I changed over to R134 because it was completely empty. The 2nd fan at the radiator should go on when the ac is running, even if the main fan is not.

My 1987 acura legend dies when I come to a stop

There is a air adjust screw on the side of the throttle body. I got the RPM slightly higher. Everything is computer controlled and a tune up is the user friendly thing to do. Plugs/wires/rotor/cap and air filter. Check the hoses for a loose or broken one (vacuum leak) and if you take off the air filter tube you can spray carb cleaner onto the throttle "butterfly" where it gets dirty.
